I bought this 1995 R1100R Thursday night. Pickup Tuesday and headed straight to the mechanic for a mandatory ‘safety’, and delete of the windshield.
Brembo brakes, ABS, heated grips and fuel injected.

That’s going to look even better sans windshield. I don’t know much about BMW bikes, but a 95’, 1100, just sounds like fun.

I sure hope so. Mechanic will be pricey for what I want done. All fluids, right side mirror, new SS brake lines, new belts, maybe engine chain, check valves. Updated injectors, and probably new tires.

I managed to cut my mixing time in half with a few little hardware additions and procedural improvements and it made me really happy and motivated to mix more.
I’ve been using scales that had a tendency to wander around when adding a drop at a time. So I was having to record total weight between each step, use a calculator, and constantly taking the bottle on and off the scales to check it. I bought some new scales and omg the time I saved making 3 tester recipes, just pressing tare after each step, is ridiculous.
The other big improvement I made was putting my PG and VG into 120ml unicorn bottles. I had been drawing up my dilutants with a syringe then measuring by weight. But the syringes are clunky and sometimes they stick then you squirt too much in, or it just takes forever to carefully get a few drops out, and then there’s always a bit left over in the syringe which seems wasteful. Switching to squeezy bottles is one of those things I really can’t believe I didn’t do earlier. Just measured that stuff out slow and steady then screw the cap back on and done!
These probably both seem like really obvious things but as a new mixer I guess I had just been accepting of fiddly, time wasting activities as it’s all a new endeavour for me. I made a test batch of 3 new recipes up last night with my new gear and it seriously went so quick I just wanted to keep going. Normally I’m glad it’s finally done.

i save alot of time by making a large batch of unflavored base
all I have to do is pour into smaller bottles and add flavors.
But i am not picky about pg/vg ratios or specific nic levels which will fluctuate

I didn’t have a scale when I started out and boy did I get tired of cleaning out syringes. Not to mention how stuck they get sometimes. So frustrating.

This landed in my inbox and it made me smile considering the ominous black cloud hanging over our world with non-stop wars et al. Nope, it’s not a joke to make you laugh but an actual movement by real people really doing things to make a hopeful change. I didn’t read all of it and I don’t expect you to either but just seeing positive stuff happening behind the scenes put a smile on my face.
