May the Professor rest in peace.
If you think it’s weird for us, imagine how it is for Geddy, and Alex. Decade after decade with Neil, and then (suddenly, not suddenly), it’s someone else. I know Anika from well before there was even scuttlebutt about her signing on, and her use, and manipulation of time signatures is without reproach, so it’s never been about her “skill” level, and DAMMMN, it’s GOT to be stressful sitting in that seat.
I remember a long time ago, she was discussing her love, and difficulty in counting time, using her 5’s, and 7’s. Obviously, the One-Eee-And-Ahhhh wasn’t going to work. She just created a new system ROAR, and lot’s of respect for that. I think she was using Un-A-Ver-Si-Ty for one of them. I knew then, she was serious. A co-worker picked up tickets last year, right when the initial dates were set, before they all sold out, and they expanded to even MORE cities, and dates. Can’t wait to SEE see it @robrrt1.
One thing’s for sure, she made bank last night
Wifey said she was tired of sleeping on the ground (tenting) so we ended up with this.
The wife and kids at Silent Lake for 4 days with the trailer we bought last fall. It’s got a mini fridge, heater, hot water and electricity. Marine battery charges while driving or when plugged into electricity. Fridge and heater run on all 3. Plug in for solar. I’m at home with the cat.
Dman, I thought you may enjoy an unofficial Anika cam
She fumbles a stick in the front half of Xanadu just to get the jitters out of the way, but after that, she may just hurt your feelings ![]()
My wife stumbled onto this guy on YouTube, and he’s got videos of him and his father mowing, and cleaning up yards, and pressure washing some REALLY bad properties. He does have a mowing company, and pressure washing business, but he does the ones he posts online for free.
He seems very squared away, and a good Christian, doing good things.
Even if (LOL) you don’t like watching yardwork or before and after cleanups, he posted something kind of mind blowing at the end of this video.
Queued up for you guys. #MindBlown
Impressive, both the cleanup and the quartet.
I’ve been watching those videos for a while myself. Watching someone pound a freaky yard into submission is almost meditative. I also like the one or two where a neighbor actually calls the cops on him ![]()
Hehe, my wife says the same thing. She calls it a “calming atmosphere”. I, being the one who has to DO that sorta thing, hehe, see it differently. I mean the before and afters are crazy.
I would say credit scores are a scam, but that belongs in the what made me mad thread ![]()
Well, I’ll just poke the ELEPHANT in the room here. Ummm, I’m wondering exactly WHAT @Rocky02852 DID to get that score ?? !!!
I’m not judging …
Never really paid attention to it, but also never thought it would hit 850… maybe something to do with wise investments ![]()
In 1159, King Henry II of England granted a manor and 30 acres of land in Suffolk to Roland the Farter, a court entertainer remembered for one of the strangest performances in royal history.
Each Christmas, Roland was expected to appear before the king’s court and perform a feat recorded in Latin as “unum saltum et siffletum et unum bumbulum” — one jump, one whistle, and one fart, all at the same time.
The unusual arrangement was documented in the Liber Feodorum, or Book of Fees, and shows just how much medieval courts valued bawdy, physical humor. Roland’s talent may sound absurd today, but his act likely required timing, control, and theatrical skill.
For this yearly performance, he was rewarded with a sizeable estate, securing his place as one of history’s most unusual recipients of royal patronage.
Imagine trying to get a government grant for a performance like that these days! ![]()
They give out grants for more ridiculous things than that.
