Oh man, I had a friend with colitis and it was awful. I never even heard of limpacidic colitis. I’ll have to search it. Okay, that’s just the pits. My heart goes out to your wife. I hope she can find relief from someone somewhere who may have alternative answers.

For one, our food is not of the best quality and even if you manage to buy only the freshest, cleanest foods, I think we’ve developed some sort of menace in our DNA from long ago passed down into families. I’d love to see studies on this phenomenon and if there is any demographic relation as well. Also we have no idea what’s really in our air and water. Some of us might be more susceptible to toxins, idk, it’s a mystery.

Thank you but from what I have read about it they don’t have a cure only relief. It comes and goes then comes back.

So is it in and out of remission?

I hear you on that. My father was always extolling the virtues of a good bowel movement, lol. The man missed his calling, he should have been a gastroenterologist.

It’s a large intestine disorder. The body is sending white blood cells, like fighting a infection but there is no infection to fight. It causes diarrhea. She has had it her whole life in different degrees. It’s a micro enzime disorder in the large intestine. It goes in and out of remission. Most treatment is a 6 to 8 week process. I have read drinking a bottle of Pepto Bismol a day for 6 weeks will put a person in remission. She won’t do that.

Unfortunatly thats the case with most gut problems. The science on gut health is way behind most diseases. They still dont even know what causes these issues

It diesnt help that everything we eat has traces of plastic in it either

I guess not but plastics are relatively new. She has had this as long as I have known her and that’s over 55 years.

Thank you for all the information. It sounds like an autoimmune problem. I have Graves Disease (in remission) where the immune system attacks the thyroid gland prompting it to make too much thyroid hormone.

Didn’t plastics make their huge debut in the 1950s? Tupperware became all the rage andaby I’m sure it wasn’t BPA free and all that. Baby bottles, sippy cups, plastic toys. And then there were binkies. the first ones were natural rubber, then:

“Later innovators added a ring to the pacifier. The nipples were processed with sulphur and some were tinted white, contaminating the pacifier with lead. Bone, ivory, and aluminum were used for the shields.”

I would think in 70 years the science the association between plastics would have been made between gut disease would have been made. Yet no one has made it. All the doctors say is cause is undetermined.:thinking::thinking:

Of course, it’s a EU panel! I should’ve known there would be a version in English. :exploding_head:
If only my brain would cooperate. You wait until it does and I’ll beat all of you with Connections. :brain:

Isn’t it closely connected to the state of the brain? Maybe too much television gives people the shits on a permanent basis. :woman_shrugging:

They will have to study it first. They’re not always that interested. Why cure something when you can endlessly combat symptoms and line your pockets while you’re at it.

Okay, so now I gotta ask…how much did you spend to win? Subtract that and that’s your true winnings.

:tada: Right, just like the fact that they could have made a light bulb way back when it was first invented, to last almost indefinitely. I can hear Edison now…“I’ll keep these for my house. The others can go to the suckers out there.”
