Thanks @Josephine_van_Rijn. The stairs turned out very nice.
That looks great!
It’s not what I had in mind but… The only way I could get it the way I wanted is by tearing it down and build another one of different wood.
That’s definitely not going to happen.
I’m quite happy with it though. It will look even better when it’s all done up.
Just bought this for 50 euro. They are sending it to me.
Not through Nextdoor, they are useless.
I’m going to have a ball. I might not be able to move much, but this doesn’t require much movement.
And, the coffee shop from my old area does house deliveries.
Good job on closing out all of those 2023 threads, and starting up the new 2024 threads @Rocky02852.
Wow, that’s intensive work. You can’t get away with not painting underneath the stairs too because you can see it from all angles. A lot of work! You go girl.
Yeah. Especially since I tried 2 different colours of wood coating first, before I gave up on the whole idea.
The paint doesn’t cover very well, so it took about 6 layers before it was properly covered.
I’m getting there. I wasn’t planning on dying yet, so I’ve got some time.
I can get away with not painting underneath the four steps on the bottom. Unless I get an unexpected visit from a midget or a child, it won’t be visible.
Since I take neither midgets or children serious…
I just can’t get behind that staircases for some reason… If that were here in the States, they’d make us rip it outta there 100%… It looks about as structurally sound- and Joel’s mental stability… No bueno
Well, they all have them in these houses. There’s a fat woman living a few doors down.
If those stairs hold her up, I’ve got nothing to worry about.
They’ve carried a washing machine up those stairs. The guys left with all their bones intact.
I’m not worried, since Joel is still alive and kicking, and manages to annoy people on the other forum.
Who needs stability?
I’m a little slow lately, but if I would find you behind there I’d probably beat the shit out of you with my cricket bat.
It’s got nails hammered through the end.
@D.Sims, it’s probably just how it photographs. The main beam does look 2X4-ish, and the treads look like 1.0" thick ?
It might not be a matter of it photographing. It’s most likely just me taking lousy pictures.
I took another look at it before I said anything, but maybe a 4x4 with 2x10 or 2x8 planks… How they are fastened to the wall is kinda cray…
I’ve only seen them made of steel, but HEY!!! I really don’t give that much of a fuck.
Our lady across the pond is good, than so am I!!
It’s too late now but I wonder if a colorful stain would have been easier if the paint wasn’t covering it? Well, something to think about on your next painting project. I need to repaint this whole house, it’s been 20 yrs and smoked in. But now I discovered that vaping indoors makes it even harder because if you don’t wash off the VG the paint doesn’t stick. I found out the hard way when I last painted the bathroom. I was like, why the fuck is the paint not sticking? Now I have to wash everything before I paint…lovely!
Thought this was pretty cool. Saw a old post of one of my custom copper mods using evolvs first chip long before the dna chips. The kick chip.
I’ve tried two of them. I went for a darker one after the first didn’t work out. It’s hopeless, so I opted for the paint.
I’ve got to get @D.Sims over to this side of the pond asap. He’s dying to rebuild my staircase.
He can use some nice wood, so I can have the staircase I had in mind.
Pretty cool! I had the SC Mini Robot that had a Kick Chip in it. I didn’t really care for it. The flavor from the Mtl Rda was top notch just didn’t care for the power output from the device itself. I traded it off for 4 boxes of PNP coils for my Argus Pro and Argus Air.
We’re in the habit of using TSP on the walls before every paint job.
I just moved in.
