Thank you yes i would get both Funnel Cake and Zeppola, they are both good flavors. I was unsure about turning Funnel Cake up to 3. I too typically use it as a supporting bakery in doughnuts with Cap Glazed Doughnut. Here I used it for what it is a fried cake, and paired with a little bit of Sugar Cookie it makes a nice cannoli shell. I started with it at 1-1.5 and it seemed to keep getting lost under the strawberry cream. So I simply kept adding Funnel Cake by .5% until I was satisfied that it was not getting buried anymore.

From what I’ve read they’re very similar but funnel cake has cinnamon and zeppola doesn’t? There is more to it than that I assume?

I don’t really get cinnamon from Funnel Cake. They are very similar flavors (a lightly fried cake) just from different companies. I typically use them as supporting flavors. I like Zeppola with FA Wow in a Raspberry Powdered Doughnut recipe. And funnel cake to add depth and a fried note with Cap Glazed Doughnut.

I swear by funnel cake in a donut recipe. I need to make a new recipe like this with newer flaves but the donut aspect will staynthe same.

I have only tried a half a dozen times or so but I really struggle to make tropical recipes. I think I might just have a crappy selection of Flavours but everything always just seems super zingy and not very pleasant. Can barely taste any mango in this, it seems to disappear at any kind of sensible percentage, and it just seems citric acidy.
I think I need to layer the mango with another one. But I’m not sure how else to make tropical flavours work for me. My experiments with CAP Golden Pineapple haven’t been great either.

@RandomlyAssigned same here and I still suck at them. Coconut(s) always seem to send a regular mix into tropical for me.

the right flavors make all the difference, i do alot of research before any buys
I highly recommend reka aka wrecka sexy mango,
or wf island mango, FA indian mango, inw dragonfruit.
pineapple seem to be very mild and its hard to make it strong
VTA sugarloaf pineapple was probably the best but VTA seems to have shutdown so I use INW pineapple
cap 27 bears is a white pineapple gummy bear which can help

Lol that is actually the most reassuring thing I could hear rn. I’m starting to feel like I’m getting the hang of mixing bakery’s but fruits have me scratching my head a bit more, and they are for the wife so I want to make them good!

Well this has me questioning my reality. Whenever I have a string of bum recipes I always end up mixing something tropical because I know it’ll be good.
I concur on all of these. Great flavors.
When it comes to tropicals I use “pineapple” like I would use a lemon in other stuff. But no actual lemon in the tropicals, the citrus clashes. (Although there are exceptions, a mango kissed lemonade/fresca can be really good)
I also use “coconut” like I would a cream in other stuff. A good coconut is the mouthfeel & a tropical bend.
And I also like just a touch of INW Cactus where I would otherwise use a Pear or Fuji, for wetness. Like 0.3-0.5%
You almost can’t go wrong with a pina colada roulette. 2-3 pineapples at their suggested %s + the same with a coconut + TPA Coconut Candy & WF Coconut Rum.
And don’t be afraid to push some sweetener. These kind of profiles really pop with some super sweet.
Off the top of my head I also get a lot of mileage from these:
FA Kiwi
FA Passionfruit
FLV Banana
FLV Guanabana
FLV Mango & Sweet Mango
FE Mango is a powerhouse if you can get it
CAP Sweet Guava - push this one, it comes out to play around 5-6%
FJ Ultimate Pineapple

I put this together a few years back and even if the recipe doesnt appeal id highly recommend going against the grain and pushing flv mango to 4.5%.

WF tropical gummy candy is a really good tropical flavour if you can get it? Its almost like a one shot in that its quite satisfying to vape even alone, its especially good in pods.
Aside from the usual pineapples etc, some other flavours that go well in tropicals are things like -
Dragonfruits, jackfruit, passion, guava, guanabana, soursop, kiwi, mangosteen etc.
No specific brands, just in general things that should work well in tropical recipes. I will say though FLV, INW & FAs versions are mostly really good.
Edit - if you have been following the black vine thread there has been a lot of talk about those types of “tropicals”.

This is some really helpful tropical 101 info mate, thanks so much. I think I’ve added FLV lemonade or CAP lemon lime to every tropical mix I’ve tried. Lol. You’d think the gross citrusy taste every time would’ve given me a hint. 
Are you sure about that? Anything over 3.5% has tasted way too tangy for me but it did always have lemons with it… I just checked and saw that most recent recipes seem to only use it around 2%. I want to believe, but I’m scared of a guava overload. Time to SFT this flavour I guess.
I’ve literally got all the flavours I’m missing from the clone recipe in my shopping cart, ready to order soon. I want to taste a good tropical vape even just for learnings sake.

Depends how you want to use it in a mix. But it’s kinda like FA Forest Fruit, you can use it low, but you can also really push it without it getting bad.
SFT it and see where you like it. Mix some up at 2/4/6/8%.
When I really want to dig into a flavor I’ll SFT it at 3-4 percentages both by itself and with 0.5% SS. Yeah, that’s a lot of little testers - I mix the highest % then dilute that down to the other percentages in little 5ml bottles. Give it the requisite steep. Then I’ll set up two identical RDAs, one for the plain flavor and one for the sweetened. And drip them side by side working up from the lowest mix %.
Sounds like a lot of work but in about 30 minutes I’ll know more about how a flavor behaves than I would in a year of just using it willy-nilly in recipes.
*Keep notes when you do this! Lol, you won’t remember what you thought if you don’t.

Same. FA I usually do .5, 1, and 2. Like Cucumber you can go from light to full with seeds to full with seeds and skin.
FLV Mango, anything over .3% and I taste a glorious peach, and I’m pretty blind to most coconuts.

I’m not really to fond of tropical flavors like papaya, or mango too musky for me. Though I have tried a few recipes were mango or papaya were used really low and then accented with and orange flavor and pineapple. Like FA Royal Orange @ 3-4 with papaya or mango @.25-.75%. Like this from my buddy Folkart it’s like a fruity beach cocktail.

That’s interesting you both mention that because I was just thinking the other day I never see many recipes that use orange. What is vaping orange like? I love orange juice but can’t imagine vaping it.

Oh snap… I’ve just been looking into this and Tropical Gummy Candy (SC) (WF) seems to be a really good flavour that has kind of flown under the radar a bit. It’s available from one of my suppliers so it looks like another one to go on the list lol.
