Today I am trying to come up with a recipe for Speculaas. It’s a Dutch spice cookie. Work in progress
@Rocky02852 look what I found, right in my own flavor stash! Haha! I’d forgotten all about it, never really ran it through any testing, so it very well could be the great Dulce I’m looking for
Edit: Holy random recipe generator, Batman!! I may have to make a crazy recipe with ALL of the items in that screenshot!
Oh F yeah! Like the way you think
If you can mix that in the back seat of a Volkswagen then I’d really be impressed
Another of my MTL ADV recipes that I recently mixed.
Currently being used in a Vapefly Galaxies RTA at 13 watts and a OG VandyVape Berserker RTA at 15w/420°F.
2 Flavor Banger for the Developed assignment
Not saying you need a point of reference, but if you want to look around, I remember that being a recipe that was talked about back in 2016.
I don’t recall if it was Ken_O_Where or perhaps Southern… I’ll see if I can dig up the old ‘speculum’ (you’ll get the joke once I find the link/topic)
Edit:
It was KoW
(not a recipe, but a flavor. I avoid Amoretti like the plague though.)
My post follows his linked post. chuckles
(it still makes me laugh, years later)
Thanks for the links Speculoos are more the American version of Speculaas Or so it says on the web. ( I had to look it up )
The cookies which I love, I was thrilled to see you can actually get them on Amazon (imported from the Netherlands)
I think with the right flavors I may be able to come fairly close. Of course, I didn’t think to get nutmeg darn it. But I will.
Lucky me, my hubby tried one of the cookies and now I have to see if I can make them. Baker’s ammonia is needed of all things. Vintage Speculaas Recipe
Thank you so much though. It’s a good starting point for trying to get a nice vape going here.
EDIT: after reading through the Amoretti thread ( thank you again ) I surely won’t be buying their flavorings.
I also made a pineapple version with Sugar Loaf Pineapple and Golden Juicy Pineapple
And an Orange Version with TPA Nectarine, FA Blood Orange, and CAP Sweet Tangerine
Waiting on those to steep before sharing. This base mix is REALLY good though and I’m almost certain it’s going to work for most fruits (fingers Crossed)
Was thinking about doing blueberry this way and just using Medicine Flower blueberry. Maybe later LOL
Edit: Yes I know it’s a heck of a lot of flavor in that strawberry and full disclosure I was doing it originally for a mouth to lung tank for a relative, but the dang thing is tasty sub ohm and RTA LOL
Oh goodie! More stuff to make Thanks Michelle, these look great. I am especially interested in the Pineapple one. Bonus, I have the flavors too! Well not the Caps VC but I have a sub I use that seems to work okay for me.
little hint deb try it without any of the fruits too if you like hazelnut cream…
I have a really nice one for the developed challenge:
May I ask why you used TPA Hazelnut DX in these two recipes instead of the usual FW and FA? I don’t have that particular flavour but if I need to get it I will. Thank you Michelle.
I’ve been in the park testing a few cocktail blends which feel like they’ll suit BBQs. Two already on this thread and:
Then back home to check on a few autumn blends. Fixed the recipe for another:
I want to start mixing s cookie crispor.glden Graham’s but I’m trying to do some research on milk and what the best replication is. Trying to see what the recurring milk ingredients are across the most popular cereal vapes here etc. It’s a daunting task trying to get the info in my brain but I am so happy / lucky to have this resource. I’d be lost without it.
I finished cloning my adv which is no longer available today. Took about 5 100 drop tests to hammer it down. Great summer vape based on cucumber.
I have to admit I was giddy like a child when I nailed this one. I felt really accomplished lol. It’s about 99.5% right. Vapes side by side, indistinguishable on a blond taste test. So happy!
Edit - and my partner wants me to make Italian grandma’s cake. I see some recipes here but at least in the south of Italy it’s not right for what they make. I need to figure out how much (if any) cinnamon you can get away with before you worry about a tank cracker.
If you don’t mind sharing that cucumber vape I’d love to give it a whirl. It was over 100 here today, so a nice refreshing vape would be great right about now. Of course if you are not comfortable sharing it, I totally get it, no worries at all.
FA Nonna’s Cake would likely be a good starting point.
Yah I saw that existed and read some reviews. I’m going to do just that flavour and see what she thinks as a base or contributing flavour.
Thank you!
Of course, sorry I was going to enter it in my recipes but hadn’t yet.
It’s a relatively high flavour percentage but neither raspberry nor cucumber are particularly strong. If it’s too sweet for you neither of those changes it- I don’t find it too sweet particularly, part of the draw for an ADV . In fact the raspberry being low is why it was initially too sweet and what I want wrong with on the first three attempts.
There are two versions - #1is the spot on clone that I couldn’t distinguish from the original in a blind taste test and an 80% flavour version for those who may like it milder (again the 80% is weaker than the retail juice)
I really hope people try this recipe. It sounds so weird on paper but I fell in love with it VERY fast. If you like it, rate it so others find it!
If you want to take almost all the sweetness out remove the spearmint and maybe add a little coolada, but I haven’t played around much. The clone is what I wanted.
Edit
Btw, shake and vape is basically the same as steeped on this one. It doesn’t change much at all which is really cool! The shake and vape was compared to a year old bottle of the original, which if anything maybe had some degradation
Sorry I fixed that before and also the url didn’t seem right.
Edited above
Apologies for the error
