What Ya Vaping/Mixing Today? (Part V) 2021 - 2022

To be honest I have only just started to try mixing my own recipes again because I did try in the beginning when I was very green to it all and it was disastrous, since then I have happily been mixing other peoples recipes and have been thoroughly enjoying most of them. I have just created a simple orange marmalade on buttered toast recipe that is steeping as we speak and I shall be testing it soon.
Oh yes, the recipe that I mixed for last Christmas was a hazelnut coffee by Sheerluck Ohms if my memory serves me well.

I had a similar idea for one of my Christmas blends: Using Hazelnuts and Cream (WF) as the base with coffee and Butter Rum (LA).

That sounds nice and I have both of those flavours. I would be interested to see how that turns out for you.

Will do. I plan to test three variants at once: 1) with 0.15% Coffee (Kona) (TPA), 2) with 0.35% Raisin Rum (Flavorah) and 3) with 0.7% Rum and Raisin (VTA) and then Battle Royale through the WIPs to find a winner.

Finally remembered to make a recipe @SteveTC shared. I just added a tart edge to it:

I have the raisin rum from Flavorah and think it’s excellent but am very tempted to try VT rum & raisin.

Can I ask how they compare please?

Well taste is highly subjective, but for me, the Flavorah tends to have a slightly more of a baked raisin note to it while the VTA tastes more akin to rum steeped raisins. Both have an earthy and oaky air to them that makes both fantastic for rich tobacco and wintery dessert blends.

The key difference is that the Flavorah is much more concentrated.

I tend to use the VTA more as it evokes the nostalgia of wintertime for me.

Thanks and you’ve persuaded me to give VT a shot on my next chefs order.

I’ve already put a 30ml bottle in my Chef’s basket too, so I have enough for winter.

Been on a Pink Guava kick lately, and the theme 2day was Tropical on Benny’s show. So I candied up the Pink G
Off the shake I’m really liking this one……

I would mix it but I’m pretty sure I gave my Pink Guava away. It tastes like grapefruit to me.

I just got mine in the mail yesterday! This is a fantastic 1st test for 3 new arrivals. Tested at an hour steeped and was blown away by the fresh flavor. 1st time with the legendary VIC LB, too!

From @fidalgo_vapes

“Pink Guava .13 to .25 is a guavaish flavors…0.5 to 1pct is Grapefruit very good Grape Fruit”

Did you try yours that low, @Dan_the_Man ?

@Rocky02852 how is the PnkG way up at 1.2%??

Yes sir I did. As a matter of fact, @fidalgo [s] recipe is why I purchased it and where I got the “grapefruit” from. He is absolutely right. My issue is that it tastes like grapefruit to me at any %

I wanted to like that recipe but then I started to ask myself what “Pink Lemonade” is supposed to taste like. I don’t know the answer to that question so I assume; grapefurit is used in the making of it.

I’m actually not a fan of Guava,
As mentioned, it’s Grapefruity :tada:
It’s one of the FLV’s that can be pushed into whole numbers
especially in a mix with a total under 3%

I’ve been on the fence about getting the Pink Guava flavour but what keeps putting me off is that I have read that it can have a floral note and that is one thing that I really don’t like. As for grapefruit flavours the only one that I have and like is the Ruby Red Grapefruit (Natural) by FW, does the Flavorah P.Guava taste anything like that?

I use it at .4% and get a full on, non floral guava
