Hey guys , I just got my cube today and when I go to upgrade it , it says “Invalid Chip ID”… Anybody have any issues or successfully do he new upgrade …I’m running v 1.080
Mine did the same thing. I had to try about 7 times before it would work. Try a different usb cable also.
I had some problems with mine, you have to keep the fire button pressed the whole time. I only pressed it when I connected the cable and then let go.
If you try the above methods and still don’t get it to work, try right-clicking on the installer and select Run As Administrator. That may help. Good luck.
And make sure you do what Josephine said if you’re using the latest installer.

@MixedUp1 theres been lots of issues with updating the xcube @DarthVapor had to end up sending me the old version to update with. The new BETA version is a bitch to work. My friend had to disable his firewall to get it to update. Unreal. In running 1.093 now and it seems to resolve a lot of the previous problems.

I have tried using their beta installer since they released it and it has never worked for me, on either of my cubes. I have tried it every way imaginable and it still does not work! It doesn’t matter if my mod’s firmware is 1.07, 1.08, 1.092 the updater tool updates my mod to 1.091… EVERY…SINGLE…TIME!
Thank god I saved the original update software and all my hex files or I would be screwed!! Besides a handful of you guys on ELR every person I know cannot get it to work. Smok replied to all of us with the same email, make sure this and that is updated to the newest blah blah blah…it doesn’t work. I understand beta means just that and it is going to have issues but if half or even more than half can’t use the software why the f*** would you take down the one piece of software that worked for everyone?!? I have also tried using it on 3 different computers and at work all with the same results…it updates but only to vr .091 which really makes no sense at all because the hex file that is in the beta software directory is the damn 1.093vr!!
It’s a shame too because I want to use the new one for its simplicity :…(

All I can say is stay clear of their pos app! Unless you are on an iPhone the app screws up your mod a lot of the times and I have had a few friends touch their tanks because of it! Everything you can do on the app you can also do on the mod, so it’s worthless for me and I am not risking a perfectly operating set of mods by using their app. 99% of the cube’s issues stem from the app or now from their software…they just need to focus on their tanks and mods and stay away from programming software hehe

I am using the newest software 1.093 and had no problem updating and none with the mod at all I am wondering if you guys verified the authenticity on the site? what ver windows r u running

Any one having problems @DarthVapor helped me out and I can’t thank that man enough. It was nothing but a head f…k untill Darth stepped in. Now its done I’m pleased as punch. The app works aswell now. ( ios ) yipeeee👍

@quitter1 i did verify my mod the same day i got it and it was all good for 2 upgrades but just couldn’t get 1.093. Now I’m up and running on 1.093 and the app on ios works, don’t know about android though, i think everyone has had problems with that version

I bet you spend more on mods and accessories than it costs for an i phone. Go on, treat yourself.

Yes mine are authentic. One I bought from vapenw on release and the other was sent to me directly from smok. Regardless I still checked but all my equipment, hardware, drivers, etc are up to date and I have tried windows 7, 8, 10, xp and it just does not work…it is nothing on my end… the updater just does not work…correction…it works… if I want to update to 1.091…

Yeah for the app I am on android as well but I don’t use the app because of the bugs. A friend of mine keeps using the app and every time he does it screws up his mod but yet he does it again…it’s a bit like watching Homer put his hand on a hot stove and saying ouch and then puts his hand back on the hot stove lol.
The first issue he had was instead of setting the wattage, etc on the mod, he set all of that on the app and fried his coil big time! I don’t remember the specifics but somewhere he set it to start at 30w that went to 40, 50, 60 and back down to 30.
So it started at 30, 40 then jumped to 140,150!
He has also set his coef thru the app and it locked him out of the mod and a bunch of other things I won’t get in to…
I realize not everyone has this issue but everyone in my experience has…all from that app

Oh there is no question there!! I just realized a hard truth today that in the past 3 weeks alone I have spent almost 1k on vape stuffs…if that doesn’t slap ya across the face I don’t know what will!! I could buy the whole family 2 iphones each! It’s a shame, I’m not a fan of iphones

i want a sherman but can’t get it in the house. Ha.

Yeah I’m with ya, tank guy all the way. I never got into dripping…never enjoyed it or the hassle of it. Even in my younger days of mixing I could never get in to it for tasting my recipes.
It was never accurate and then there is that hassle again…
I’m sure at the time there was something I could of done differently or something but all in all I just don’t like it.
Now I just have numerous tanks and mods which I pretty much carry with me all day haha. I’m not the type to vape just 1 juice/flavor all day or shit for more than 1 hour…I like to change it up and I’ll have 6 or so tanks in rotation changing flavors that way:)
Nothing against drippers, it just isn’t for me
