Outstanding @daath. I’m reminded of back in my PC Gaming Clan days wherein we had the entire team donating cycles. Couldn’t ask for an easier way to help out.

Reminds me of the SETI at home deal from years ago too. Just saw they still do it.

We had a gaming clan as well - I think a lot of us were running the SET@home client  I later switched to Folding@Home - then I forgot about it until about a month ago

And yes, it’s easy - You can just set it to “Only at idle” - then when you go grab a cup of coffee, or go sit in the sun for a few minutes - it’ll work on it

Nice catch.

BTW if you install it now, be sure to have it set to “Any disease”, and don’t be discouraged if you get a “work unit” for Parkinson’s, Cancer or even Oxytocin-receptors for example - that just means there are no current SARS-CoV-2 work units right now. As soon as they release them, they are given top priority and your computer will work on them

Also, some people might want to set it to “While I am working”, but I set mine to “When idle” - my office simply gets too hot when starts crunching numbers

Interesting subject. Scientists scratch heads over this ancient, mysterious, complex “nurturing” hormone

Apparently also a target for the drug used to induce labor?!

In mammals endogenous Oxytocin releases are invoke-able via local stimulations. Also active in males

Prolactin is present in both sexes (can be higher in females, associated with nursing, pleasure in both).

Research surrounding related social behaviors appear to have (mostly) been conducted using Prairie Voles - an animal species that is (generally) monogamous where it comes to their mating preferences.

Low Prolactin combined with high Testosterone levels have been known to engender Jingoistic Cults:

Time to get out that Heat Sink Grease, and religiously hose-down those CPUs with liquid Nitrogen !

Perhaps some residual (shared) bits and bytes may (someday) find the “holy grail” for “connubial bliss”.
