You too can help find a cure/treatment for Coronavirus

I could go in, and manually tweak it, but, ehhh …

Yep, mine is an i9-9900 as well - and the GPU just leaves it in the dust :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: And the office get’s intolerably hot when I run both

I wish there was a better interface, so that you could easily use temperature for example, to adjust the workload or something like that! I hardly see any difference from medium to full :stuck_out_tongue:

Still feels good that we’re helping with their high priority projects.

A few of my old teamates that I was previously helping have dual 2080 Ti’s. Can only imagine the heat from that !!!

Quite a difference in 17 days!

Oh, and whoa! Your rig is crushing the work units!

Thanks @daath. Man, they are pushing the BIG and HEAVY projects. 6.4kk points with only 93 WU’s.

Smashed the 2k barrier …

Go Team ELR !!!

Holy crap, SD! You are shooting up the list - 2.3 mil 2 days ago vs today 7.8 mil :stuck_out_tongue: You’re going to overtake me in no time - that Ti is a beast!

Yes @daath it is a beast. I’m trying to donate as much as I can to ELR, but I still have other obligations. I’ll try to keep on it as long as I can. As you know, there’s a LOT of bragging rights in Folding, and I’m constantly being nagged by old teammates wanting me to join their group to knock another group out of the running LOL. Ping pong ball is what I am.

You’re not the ONLY one with a toasty office !!! I blame the extra heat on the OC that they apply to all Founder’s Edition cards. God only knows what the electric bill is going to be, hehe.

I can definitely see that I am not the only one with a toasty office

I’m glad you’re donating power to some virtual points for ELR  and hopefully to some real science

I thought about the electric bill as well, but hey, it’s for a good cause, so I don’t mind that much…

I agree. It’s a shame that FAH doesn’t offer better options for folding, i.e. step downs, so when the summer comes, you could adjust your folds for the ambient temperature. With more and more (not all, but some) GPU manufacturers (like Nvidia) venting INTO the case, heat is much more of an issue now.

I’m sure you’ve noticed, but once you get a 2080 (or comparable) card, FAH knows, and they give you the big heavy projects.

Broke through the 1900 barrier and still coming …

Wow, that is one toasty GPU! Mine is generally around 70-73 deg C when running full load - but then again, I don’t run workunits on my CPU so maybe that is why the temp is a bit lower. Or maybe it’s just that your GPU is a bigger beast than mine

Oh, and we’re breaking 1800 today! I was away yesterday - wife and I had to take a break from home

Well, like you @daath, I had to trim back the CPU folding, as it was just too hot. I actually (briefly) let it rip FULL BORE, no reductions, just to see HOW hot it would get, and how my PPD would be affected, and it was utterly STUPID. I’m going to trim back the CPU cores, as all that heat gain, isn’t really effective/efficient, and wastes wattage, cooling, etc., and further warms my GPU.

Stay tuned, as I’ll share that rediculous FULL BORE Advanced Screen later.

1700 NEXT !!!
