We’ve all had that one recurring vape problem that drove us mad until we finally figured out the fix — and usually the fix turned out to be embarrassingly simple.
Thought it’d be useful to pool these, especially with loads of newcomers switching over from disposables right now and hitting these same walls for the first time.
I’ll start with mine:
The problem: Constant faint burnt taste on brand new coils, even after priming. Drove me up the wall — I thought I was getting duff coils.
The fix: I was firing them too soon and too hard. Now I prime the coil, let it genuinely sit for 10 minutes (not 2), then take a few gentle primer puffs with the device off to pull liquid into the wick before I actually fire it. Burnt taste basically gone. Such a simple thing, wish I’d known from day one.
A few other quick ones I’ve picked up:
- Leaking pod? Nine times out of ten it’s overfilling — leave a small air gap, don’t fill to the brim.
- Weak/no vapour? Wipe the contacts on the pod and device with a dry tissue. Dirty contacts kill more dead devices than anything else.
- Gurgling? You’re probably drawing too hard for the airflow — soften the pull, or clear it with a couple of fire-button puffs off-tank.
So — what’s the most annoying problem you’ve battled, and what finally fixed it? Let’s build a proper go-to list people can point newcomers at. The simpler and more why did nobody tell me this the better. ![]()
