Ah, the Greater Good. Well, if you iron out all the wrinkles and keep everyone in lockstep, you’ll soon see a forum that has withered to nothing. How great is that for the good?
Nothing personal to any of you. I am just picking random things, not picking at specific people.
Im open to keeping the Saloon in place just with some different guidelines. We also have the discord chat with multiple rooms where we can say what we like.
I am open to discussing any of the rules listed in the FAQ, each in their own thread. I want to foster openness and easy communication between the mods and the great community.
This here is where a Serious tag would work out well. We do NOT want this place to turn in to another 3 letter forum but at the same time we dont want it to become reddit either.
I’m telling you right now, it will. There will be rampant abuse of that tag as well, we will see. You as a mod will hate that tag. You will kick kittens because of that infernal tag.
That’s not what I was saying. There are rules to everything in life. You drive? You follow the road rules. You go to another country, you follow their set of rules. I’m not saying that the forum needs to police everything but there needs to be some sort of uniform rules in place otherwise it will be a lot worst and you will find a lot more people going away.
Trying to be a bit more political correct than on the discord when i said what i honestly thought.
I started vaping 3,5 years ago.
since i joined it has been the same jokes, having fun. mixing.
Sure “pictures” maybe should have a possibility to be flagged as nsfw to people that have kids around them.
but to restrict the forums as i understand that people are trying to get elr to todo. well then im 110% sure that we will soon see a sign saying . R.i.p Elr 2018 when u logg on to the site.
This is an adult site for adult people. u have to be an adult to vape. so why should the jokes and the derailing be banned. it´s life this is what happens.
if i walk down the street in my town and see a guy with a green shirt. i dont go get it banned because i dont like the green colour. i accept that people are diffrent.
so sure. make it possible to flag pictures and links as “nsfw” and u can have a switch in settings allow nsfw content or not. problem solved.
to follow the rules 100% it will not evolve Elr it will disolve it. sadly.
buth then i again im an adult and i know that offend people because i dont live buy the norm. im a proud unic person that accept people for being diffrent.
Even though this is true and I wholeheartedly stand by this, I also think that a lot of people here don’t realize this site is a hodgepodge of people with different backgrounds, different cultures, beliefs and political convictions. Too often I see people all too fine with whatever is acceptable around them and not giving a hoot about how other people might see a post… and this has nothing to do about being adults but about bringing in stuff that basically has nothing to do with the whole concept of this site, mixing e-liquids for the purpose of vaping.
The majority of users here is probably from the US, but they often forget this is not a US website and there are people from all over the world using this site each and every day. Being adults doesn’t automatically mean bringing in R-rated material. To me it especially means that people can be respectful and responsible and just behave like adults and not teeny little brats.
And that’s what we are discussing. Publicly, as required. We will lose more folks with tighter rules than with more causal interaction, I can guarantee it.
You are right about that and that is why we are here, to get it all out in the open and discuss it.
I dont mind jokes at all but the thread derailing is a huge issue here, people have contacted JoJo and I to close their own threads because of this happening. This doesnt pertain to some back and forth between people. This is about taking a thread and the having 50 posts about someones butthole.
And d00d, i have NEVER seen you swear. I might even get a bit scared if you did because things would seem too serious.
