We must show our support to all Calls To Action before it’s too late. This is a localized thread that will be updated as actions for vapers are requested. This thread will be pinned globally so all members can be informed and participate. We can help save vaping as we know it. When you see an update please read because it may be your country or state that need your help. Please post your Calls To Actions threads and they will be linked here and updated for the entire community to see and support. Thanks in advance for participation.

If you’re in the USA, join CASAA (it’s free!) and sign up for the Calls to Action. They’ll send you an email any time there’s a federal call to action or one in your state/locality.

I have no FB account but I got this email yesterday and thought I share it here.

Maybe people with FB accounts could make some noise on FB?

Interesting - I wonder why?

Has anyone taken the time to look on the FDA’s site at their "Adverse Event Reports for e-Cigarettes"
Reading them kinda makes me wish they showed the name of the people submitting these claims…I’m sure some of them can be very real and I don’t want to take away from that but for example some person filed a report saying he/she was in a movie theater and had massive pain, numbness, itching, unusual sensation, Tired, weak, dizzy, confused, feel bad/sick, the list goes on…When she discovered there was a guy 4 rows in front of her with an ecig and he was the source of her problem.
The FDA is FULL of events like this!! Its appalling and it makes me sick just reading them! This is the first time I thought to actually go to the fda’s site to do some research instead of the Casaa and all the call to action sites I frequent…it’s unbelievable and a false representation as we know that is just massively feeding the general public!
They go as far as to say vaping is linked to congestive heart failure, disorientation, seizure, hypotension, and other health problems.
That’s all they need to do is say vaping is linked to heart failure on the news just once and it’s all over…
WHO IS SENDING IN THESE EVENTS!!! and where are all the files on the positive…

Good question, they haven’t given any reason. If only they were as diligent removing child-pornography…

Wow that’s some f’d up shit? With all the other crap on FB they choose to remove that? With my FB experience even if you post 100% nude/graphic material it gets flagged first for “review”. During this time FB will send you an email explaining that your “blank” has been reported or flagged and that FB will be investigating this to see if it violates their rules, etc etc. But never once do they delete an entire page/profile with little or no warning?
Something is fishy here? I mean if they deleted ONLY on the fact it has to do with vaping, which legally hasn’t even been banned yet, then why his group and only his group? I would think that IF FB was targeting anything vape related we would be hearing about loads of groups being deleted left and right? Even if it was targeted how does that make sense when there ar loads of drug pages from pot to heroin, porn and other graphic content
Idk…just seems very odd to me and I would like to know more

Hey @ringling excuse my ignorance if you may but owning a vape shop do you or will you get any “insider” info or any news that the general public may not be aware of on the upcoming storm?
I’m just curious because me owning a restaurant and being in this field makes me privy to info before the GP finds out, although, in your case I’m not quite sure what that info would be, if any?
Sorry for the completely random ass question

As much as I would like to say yes, I can not. Any thing I find out is from sources that anyone has access to. Casaa, FDA, Vaping Forums, etc. Only other info I hear is from other vape shops and honestly we’re all as much in the dark as you. As you know running a business is very time consuming. so trawling through government websites is just not gonna happen. Why bother anyway since it requires a lawyer, a chemist, and the pope sitting by your side to understand what they are saying half the time. Sometimes interpreting regulation and law is harder than interpreting the bible (the latin version). That being said I try to get my info mostly from Casaa who have made it their mission to keep up with this stuff. Let’s face it, there is a lot of talk about the regs and ecigs and it is hard to determine what is true, and what is not. For instance a couple days ago I was reading some comments on the ECF forum and one talked of the Equipment regs not taking effect until 2017. I hope this is true, but ECF is the only place I have heard anything about this. Can we believe it then? Don’t know, found no other reference. Also rumored the FDA has already had submissions for approval of ecig products and have literally rejected them from consideration. If this is true we are f#cked ! No juice, no equipment! Anyway, no I’m no more privy to info than you are and basically am sifting through the facts and the bull just as you are…

I figured as much but I was just curious, thanks for taking the time to respond though!
As far as the equip regs go I heard (forgive me I don’t remember the exact length) that if the equip regs do get pushed through that shops, manufacturers, etc will have 14 months or so to go through the procedures/testings and all the while the products can remain on the market. Again I cant remember if it was 14 months, 12 or 16 but nonetheless this could of been the information that someone misread/construed or misunderstood which would put that around the time frame that you heard? I believe that this also pertained to juices as well.
All in all I figured you knew as much as the average Joe does, seeing as this is more a governmental issue rather than a market issue…I suppose it was my angst and impatience that was hoping for a glimmer of what lies ahead that was poking through

Hopefully that was their way of just holding off until a final decision comes down…

The FDA has a reputation of being difficult to deal with. Link that with Phillip Morris / RJ Reynolds money, lawyers and lobbyists we don’t stand a chance of winning this. Unfortunately it has become a political issue and we can all see the state of our nation and where it is headed. Americans have become lethargic in regards to national politics. To make change we must change. I’m talking outta my butt. Propaganda, lies, graft, greed and corruption. Tell them anything and they will believe. How has this happened? I guess all I’m saying is that we don’t stand a chance in hell unless we are united. I’m sorry guys I’m rambling. I’m just so damn pissed.

Actually you are absolutely correct. They will listen, and believe me, stop this crap if just 500,000 vapers picketed the FDA building day in and day out until they did. At this time there are millions of people who vape. It could be a reality if done right…

I have absolutely no doubt that it could be won. No doubt whatsoever. That’s why there is frustration. We witnessed the power of unity when we threw Tricky Dick from office. It wasn’t a white, black, hippy, yippy, straight, gay, Democrat or Republican issue. It was a united American call for change.

The one thing I’ve figured is the average vaper don’t even know about the regulations. For those that are not in forum, (most vapers) they need to somehow be informed of their vaping future. The majority of vapers don’t mix and are not on forums. I feel the vape shop owners are the front line to get the word out. They should have laptop, or tablets in their shops to inform and sign ups customers. It will go a long way to increasing the pro vaping response to the FDA. Any thoughts on how to shop owners involved.

I like your idea of having a laptop or tablet for people to get signed up! Unfortunately my shop it is not feasible. No Wifi or internet access of any kind. It’s a metal building and even phones have trouble connecting. I can see this as quite feasible for many Vape Shops though. As long as they have internet access and at least 2 employees in the store they should be able to have time to help people get signed up and filling in the call to action forms. That is a GOOD idea @Pro_Vapes

Even if there is an enability to sign people up, maybe a leaflet or something that can be passed out with details of what’s happening and signup info. All these online sites should have a spot with info and links to CASSA. This need to be stepped up so more people can be informed.

Or! Just one short memorable link - Which then holds all info and links to causes worth supporting!

I had to leave earlier and didn’t get to say all I wanted to. I’m back now, yeahhhhhhh !! Anyway I try my best to pass on. I usually try to get the Casaa website for people and hope they actually take the time to have their say. Most say they will but you know how it is. Saying is not always doing. Technically we have to also ask if they a registered voters. If registered they have much more pull you know…
