Perfect might be a better description.
Drill and swivel method bro, works a treat and yes the top coil wire is all ti. Going to try it in tc mode.
Ss fused claptons work fine in tc mode, quite impressed with those, i have them in my griffin on the ipv5 (304ss)
Thanks for the compliment brother. Appreciate.
Thank you. Wouldn’t of been possible without the help of the community. [quote=“Johan, post:32, topic:58918, full:true”]

that Ti fused clapton…you gonna do contact coils or spaced coils? i’m curious how that works for you…keep us informed, if you dont mind.
your SS fused claptons that you are running now…contact or spaced coils?
and how do you feel about 304? have you tried the others? like 316,316l, 317l and 430.
i bought 304 but it was so very dirty i couldnt get myself to try it
Spaced. Always spaced. I find it gives better flavour over contact coil’s. And i will keep you posted on the ti (fc), no problem.
Ss I’ve used all except 430. The 304 ss fused claptons I’m using now are spaced aswell and in tc mode work great. No dry hits. Flavour is there but still searching.
The 304 that i have seems very clean, but i clean all wires that i use as a matter of course anyway. Good practice to do so.
I’ve used 316,316L and 317L. Haven’t used317L as a fused clapton as yet, but will eventually.
Here is a handy little item that not only keeps your wire from unspooling, but works really good for claptoning. When you get it tensioned just right it will sit there under the core(s) and lay the wraps on hands free.
i always clean my wire, but DAMN my 304 is super dirty…
if you say its good, then i will try it next. i have a 100ft of 22g and 100ft of 24g.
i will just ultrasound it, wipe it, disinfect it, baptise it, perform an exorcism and anything else i can think of.
430 is really nice, super clean and super clean tasting, but its really hard and really hard to pull apart for spaced coils.
Might grab hold of some 20g bc i want to try the polished coils and I haven’t tried the 430ss as of yet.
Get the 304 cleaned up and give it a try, you won’t be sorry. I get a nice CLEAN vape from it.
thats what i wanna hear, because thats all i want: CLEAN taste.
thanks, brother…this is what we are all about…sharing, loving and caring

@Bearkat At first, are you wrapping on a drll bit [screwdriver] or using a coil jig?
I would suggest you begin with Kanthal A1 because it is more forgiving while you get used to wrapping,
especially if you spread the wraps for non-contact coils. Start with a spool each of 26ga and 28ga.
Some wire is really dirty, but most any wire can be dirty…so ALWAYS dry-burn your coils before wicking
to clean them, but also to check if they need tweaking to get even firing.
You can clean the wire to the extreme like some do, but at least pull it through a paper towel or micro-fiber cloth
after you cut your strand length(s).
Ebay sellers have some fair priced pkgs of cotton and wire together, usually 10 cotton pads and a 100ft roll of wire,
or other variations. I’m sure you know how to cut the cotton squares [ two directions are wrong, two directions are right]

And sometimes a bit snappy…
[wasn’t directed at you @Pattie , it just formatted that way after quoting @Whiterose0818 ]
ok bro you need some help. first you want to go to the source to buy your wire www.temcoindustrial.com these are the people that manufacture the stuff (in the U.S) just off the top of my head i paid $3.70 for a hundred feet of kanthal A-1 Annealed round resistance wire 24 ga I would start with 24,26,28 ga. if you plan on doing claptons 32,36 ga. they also have titanium wich i do not recomend and nichrome 60 and 80 which i do recomend.
Next, I would go to Kings Royal Vapor on you tube and watch his video and print his work. He has done all the work for us.He has printable sheets with all the legths of all the guages of all the ohms you want to build, very handy.
I would personally get a coil jig from coil-master or UD they come in very handyhttps://plus.google.com/u/0/photos/101083021537922880182/albums/6260638419381750097/6260638417322733154 that link is a video i made on how to make very easy fused claptons. it is a bit dorky but easy to understand here is the one i made on the video.
Next is wicking which it looks like you got a lot of advice on already.
Now i will give you some you tube and instagram names of some awesome coil builders. First Squidoode at the art of vaping he has some very good tutorials. Also, Twisted Messes has some very good tutorials. Check out coilporn on instagram for some cool builds that maybe someday we can achieve.
@Bearkat Also, in case you are not familiar with this calculator :
[put it in your favorites or a desktop shortcut, just put in your values…and voila ! ]
Thank you. Appreciated
@Bearkat One more thing while you set up shop…
If you don’t already have one, this is a super handy tool with many uses.
It was $5 at DV but I haven’t see one lately, sometimes it’s scarce anywhere.
Just search…
Here it is at fasstech :

If you’re still in a mode of gathering info before accumulating you can always buy some coils premade in different configs. This site has some nice choices in different styles of SS - clapton, hives, tidal, etc. Even if you don’t order from them. The charts on the different pages are really useful for seeing what particular wire gauge and wraps will give you for resistance on the coils. They have a you pick 10 sampler for $8 if you wanted to try a few styles in different sizes while you learn to wrap your own. Remember, if you’re planning dual coil setups to divide the resistance by two.

Thanks. I do plan on getting a coil jig set and a 521 tab to do my builds on.
