Sounds possible to me! There’s been a lot of ‘offline’ chatter at my employer’s since they recently announced that all non-essential staff are ordered to work from home for at least the rest of the month. It’s been 100% positive- people are loving this home quarantine. It’s like snow days off school when they were kids.
Excellent! Thank you so much.
And I’ve been enjoying the low traffic flow. That is until they took my right to drive the van. It’s my only means of transportation and all the vans have GPS tracking so I can’t sneak it. On a positive note, I am in walking distance to the grocery store and Walgreens. Also, my monitor who is also quarantined owns a car and said just shout if I need help. He lets me borrow his car anytime. So, I may as well enjoy the time off, that is if the whole thing is a sham and we’re truly okay.
It’s not a sham; I just don’t see yet the validity of these extraordinary measures.
Remember, it can take up to 2 weeks or more for it to show up too…
Wash your hands. If in public, don’t touch your face or any one else. Use hand sanitizer every 20min you are away from soap and water. Cover all coughs and sneezes. Start knitting your tp and Kleenex
Good luck!
See the vid above that I posted… smokers and vapers and anyone with any medical conditions are at a higher risk.
The info this guy is giving at the start is completely opposite to the info from the virologist in the video that @daath has posted.
According to the virologist, touching stuff like doorknobs and then touching your face is not spreading the virus.
The data on that is extremely weak.
He also states that children are a high risk group, again, not what the virologist is saying.
Kids are doing fine with this virus.
That’s why we have so much panic going on, everybody is an expert on this subject.
Now on a serieus note, I just came from the coffeeshop and they are running out of hash
Luckily I prefer grass
What I mean is if the person who reported it made it up to get 2 weeks off.
Excellent point. And so many of these ‘experts’ are contradicting each other, so how are we ordinary chaps supposed to know what’s what? Pah!
It does transfer through air - but the virus can survive on surfaces - especially glass and other hard materials for fairly long … Social distancing and good hand hygiene! We touch our faces an insane number of times (2,000-3,000 times per day) when we are awake hehe
I understood that, and I agree that was definitely a possibility. I was sort of buttressing your point about that person’s thought process.
Sorry, too easy!
Amazingly, to me anyway, influenza spreads this way too as we all know. And so far to my knowledge, people who get the flu and survive are more deeply affected in terms of symptoms and recovery than with the Covid-19. Everywhere I read I see that the vast majority of folks infected with C19 experience only mild symptoms, while flu sufferers get hammered for a couple weeks. And yet people still giggle about the flu. Everyone should be as personally vigilant against catching the flu as they are about C19 (and I do not mean official responses like cancelling sports. I mean individuals).
Transporting special needs folks we’re constantly using hand sanitizer. But it’s near impossible to expect them to cover their mouths. We always remind them but it doesn’t sink in unfortunately. But interestingly, this was a staff member who reported his/her contact with someone outside of the group home. My employer admits the information they received was squirrely but they want to err on the side of caution.
I don’t knit
That wld be great
COVID-19 can be just as bad, and worse for even non-critical patients - One survivor described the progress of the disease as: 1) Feels like the cold 2) Recovering from cold 3) Feels like the flu 4) Gets a little better 5) Very bad pneumonia
And note that he is young, healthy, non-smoker, non-drinker …
Yes and I don’t discount or dispute that. Just what I’m reading it says the ‘vast majority’ won’t get that far… It’s only stuff I’ve read as I am no expert and have no personal idea.
No doubt. The vast majority can just stay at home and they’ll just get better
On a side note… I know it isn’t exactly the most joyful of threads, but it’s nice to see you posting a bit more lately!
Interesting ,
Wish they’d cancel it for my kids. They did cancel a few colleges in my state.
