Coronavirus

Can someone explain to me how the science here https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2135271/ states that propylene glycol KILLS germs bacteria … yet they are saying Vaping helps spread this? I’m completely confused.

I’m nowhere near convinced that vaping helps propagate the spread, sorry. Unless they are using CDC Coronavirus (Extra) in their juice at too high %…

I would think vaping would reduce the spread Phil, so I’m trying to understand if they have any science behind their words or just making another stab at vaping

This early, with so little known about this virus yet, I highly doubt they have focused any real research into a C19/vaping connection. If I had to guess, I’d say that if this isn’t just a deliberate deception meant to hurt vaping, that maybe people get oogie-feeling about it because they can see the vapor travel, and assume it’s a dirty cloud of virus.

Whaaaat?!? :face_with_raised_eyebrow: You mean you don’t trust the word of Deuces Jack? … the “Vaping Virologist”?!? :joy: Really?

I mean, he can’t be all bad… he has an Edgar Allan Poe quote on his Vaping Underground profile page. … at least that’s something. :new_moon_with_face:

I have a better quote he could use:

“If there is a special Hell for writers (and vape reviewers) it would be in the forced contemplation of their own works.” ~ John Dos Passos

I think it is a mix of both… and that the USA is not prepared…
there are a lot of opposing sides, true…
but Kids do carry germs… haven’t met one yet that doesn’t.
So does metal, grocery carts and door knobs…

When in doubt, scrub. Nasty folks love to spread their misery…

I know anything preventative is better than doing nothing… and getting sick because of nothingness.
Common sense tho… is still rare

Well, Denmark just closed its borders completely, as of tomorrow at 12.

And I heard Trump declared a National Emergency.

Crazy times.

I think the biggest problem we’re going to get with this situation (whether it is real or overblown doesn’t really matter in this case) is not a lack of TP but a lack of medication.
Most countries get their meds from abroad and won’t be able to refill their stock.

Can we still use these?

The real problem is this if all the kids stay home that means the parents of these kids stay home also! People in the medical profession have children 38% actually have kids that need supervision so if you take that 38% away from all of the health care in the USA do you see what your left with. ? Massive amounts of people who will be without proper medical treatment. Sorry for that statistic people but it’s a big issue here in Canada aswell.

That’s the whole problem with this issue isn’t it?
If you take precaution you might take out 38% of essential personnel, if you don’t you run the risk of even more people contracting the virus, also amongst the medical staff with the same end result or worse.

Too many people get sick at the same time with those mass gatherings and healthcare can’t cope.
You can see that clearly in Italy where people are left to die because they have to make the hard choice of which people to help or not.
They cannot cope with the numbers.
Those measures are taken to prevent too many people getting sick at the same time.

In this case it’s very hard to decide what the real problem is.

I gotta say, I’ve been talking to both co-workers and clients almost non-stop since this really started heating up. Some are panicked, some are disinterested, some worried, some carefree, some putting their faith in one thing or another. I think there’s more good info here than on most other sites, or news outlets quite frankly. Just stumbled across this, haven’t read it yet …

Mean while here in Australia our Prime Minister announces that gatherings of over 500 people will not take place after Monday. This weekend is the opening of the Rugby season which he will be attending on Saturday no doubt with a crowd of over 50K why do I mention this you ask?

2 days ago the home affairs minister Peter ‘Mr Potato Head’ Dutton tested positive for Covid-19 the day before he tested positive there was a cabinet meeting with a bunch of ministers including the PRIME MINISTER.

Quite obviously any normal person would say hmm maybe I should self isolate and not go the the Rugby but not our PM he is a super human and will never catch Covid-19. These idiots we have lording over us are devoid of common sense and seriously do not give a rats ass about what the results of their actions will be.
