The explanation for the generally heightened risk to the elderly, but also for the fact that Covid-19 kills many younger people even as some seniors survive, lies in a growing understanding of “immunosenescence.” Immunologists have identified some of the specific ways the immune system changes with age, allowing them to go beyond the simple assertion that it weakens. … “Older people are not as good at reacting to microorganisms they haven’t encountered before,” said physician and immunobiologist Janko Nikolich-Zugich of the University of Arizona College of Medicine. He calls it “the twilight of immunity.”
If I’m wearing a mask, and a sick person is wearing a mask, their germ or virus will have a more difficult time reaching my lung than if no one was wearing any protection.
If i inhale 1 individual virus, my immune system might be able to fight it off more easier than if I inhale 5,000,000 individual virus all at once.
I’m smarter than our US president.
If an infected doesn’t have a mask and you do…
nothing to stop those germs being lodged into your mask… or if you slip up and manage to get your hands on the mask on your face, and you rub your nose or eye… or even taking your mask off… nothing to stop those germs from entering into your mouth.
either way we are all going to get it… masks or not.
I wish everyone would wear a mask, and take decontamination procedures while removing their ppe. When we look at the lung scans of the bad infections it looks like they inhaled many particles all at once and their lungs are infected in multiple spots. This is all theoretical but something we are overlooking is allowing the virus to be transmitted.
The Chinese government insists that the death toll from the coronavirus outbreak in Wuhan is 2,535. But last week, 5,000 urns were delivered to a single Wuhan crematorium in just two days.
