I can not seem to keep a battery charged for either my tablet or phone, but I am excited and happy you are picking things up!!! I will catch up, or you could write out everything you are learning here

@SessionDrummer
I’m a messy, non organized person. I need more of a lab setup. a rack area to keep flavors in (simply designating a spot on the counter doesn’t work for me. If it can be knocked over, I seem to have a knack for doing it). I have a tendency to put things down anywhere to take notes. If I create a spot to quickly set the flavor down in, I don’t have to be so conscious about it (falling over, knocked over). I keep notes and read the old ones. It’s cluttered because I don’t consolidate.

My Parkinson’s is only an issue in regards to holding things. my hands will open up on rare occasions and I drop what’s in them. It’s why small batches. It just safeguards against dropping something that doesn’t have a lid on it.

I didn’t do well in chem class so I refer to things a lot. I don’t have all the materials yet (small bottles with standardized size tips for drop sizes etc).

I know, everyone’s going to tell me it’s always different. I can’t learn though if I don’t take notes. I jumped into this thinking it wouldn’t be hard. well, with the note taking etc… it’s not easy to me yet. Just like any setup, the start up cost’s are more than expected. I have enough nic to last about 2 years if not more.

Even if it costs the same if not a small amount or a little more, I was spending $20 a bottle + shipping for pre mades. That was 30-40 a month and If I didn’t like a new flavor, I didn’t use it (the prices of the 30ml pre made’s aren’t much less than a 120ml bottle).

I tried to quit smoking a couple times before using the vaping. The time it took juices to arrive, the costs of the pre-made mixes… (I didn’t buy cartons of smokes at a time) that added up too. I had to throw away much older mixes I purchased online that didn’t get completely used. I had 6-7 bottles of it. @$20 a bottle (before shipping) that’s a lot.

I’m making progress but I need to streamline. I can correct the mixes I messed up previously now.

It’s all a learning curve.

Ok, let’s face some things I’m having issues with:
Steeping is osmosis, pH balancing and probably nicotine breakdown. (that takes time w regular flavors because the flavor molecules are larger and because the VG and PG are so viscous). Flavorah flavor molecules are smaller. they spread faster.

We used to use vibrating pads to aid the dispersion in lab. If it’s osmosis, the pH strips will tell me (pH strips are cheap). Like I said, I’m learning. I noticed alcohol seems to be used as an accelerant (solvent)? With the system closed off to outside air, how does the alcohol evaporate (standard flavors)?

How about rather than worrying about all that, you just leave the stuff alone for a while.

@Caped_Conspirathist

do NOT use any vibrating thing… At all. Flavor molecules are delicate. If you want to loose flavor notes, from anywhere in the ejuice… vibrate away…

Stop… and keep it simple

shake and leave it alone

@anon70102222 for some reason, the flavor disappears anywhere from 6 hrs to overnight. I need to find out why. I’ve followed @anon84779643 's directions to the letter. She gave me explicit instructions. Me and her are both stumped.

It could be my Parkinson’s but I need to find out.

@anon84779643 , well If I’m gonna screw up I might as well make sure I do it proper lmao.

Ok, well good luck with the research.

I really think it is your parkinson’s doing this to you @Caped_Conspirathist

Let those sit up a bit and see what happens.

@anon84779643 I’m sure it’s not helping. Once I understand why I can taste it great when it’s first made then it loses it’s flavor as it steeps, I’ll have it made. when I follow the %'s you gave me it messes up for some reason. The flavor disappears. It’s at that point I don’t know what to do.

Is it overdriven at that point or under flavored?

It is hard for me to say, as I am not sitting with you and seeing what is going on.
I can only go by what you tell me Doug… you tell me you mixed it like I said to…
You tell me you can taste it fresh mixed, but the next day you can not or it is chemical.

I have had a lot of folks vape my juices for a very long time, with out this… so it really is hard for me to say what exactly is going on. To me, it sounds like either it isnt enough flavor (disproved that by tasting it fresh mixed) but the tell tell is the next day and that to me sounds like you are using too much.

That’s what I was thinking. It’s really strong the 1st day. I probably need to let it not be so strong.

If you have made a recipe from me… mix it and leave it be for a few days.

If you mixed something up, stick with a solo. start low. Let it sit for 3 days and come back to it.

Pay attention to the numbers on your scale…

I need to know how much 30 ml weighs. If my calculations are wrong that will do it.

You can get that info from the elr calculator, from any of my recipes.
Most of them if not all, are 30mls…

you don’t have any single flavor mixes up. what about the Rainier cherry?

Doug… for a solo… You start low and work up…

1-2 drops in 10ml… find your spot where YOU like the flavor… not me

It’s the Parkinson’s. My sense of smell is off… then on… then off… I can only taste the mixes 1/2 the time. I’m going to have to depend on recipes. That and mixing to the bare minimums and no higher. Then ever so slightly adjusting. I’m going to have to cut them, then cut them again until I can get manageable and MUCH more tolerant flavor amounts to mix together so I don’t overpower everything.

I guess that’s a good thing because 1 drop will probably make 20mls. I’ll have to follow recipes. No one makes single flavor recipes though. I figured that out tonight. I couldn’t smell the rainier cherry, Then it smelled so strong I couldn’t believe it.

At least I know I’m overloading them. I learn something new every day. Thank you for the offer of making shots. What I need is a good nose lol. Actually, I wish that was funny because it’s just another reminder.

I will get this right. It’s just another hurdle. The Cherry maxed out at 2 drops in 30 mls. It could have been 1 1/2 though. I can’t tell. I cant smell it 1/2 the time.

I don’t know if an RTA or RDA will help… I have to wait to try it. I got robbed this morning on my bank account. Any ideas you have about figuring this out would be nice. I’m hoping pH strips might help. They’re cheap.

well, at least we know. If I actually figure out how to do it, It’ll be good info to pass along. I guess I still don’t want to accept that I have this damn disease. I’m tired of it screwing everything up.
If you get some free time dealing with the guitars, give me a ring so maybe we can figure something out?

I don’t want to quit. I just don’t want to.
