FDA Sending “The Real Cost” E-Cigarette Prevention Posters to All High Schools; New E-Cigarette Resources Developed for Public Health Groups
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is working with Scholastic to distribute youth e-cigarette prevention posters to every high school in the United States. These posters were developed as part of FDA’s “The Real Cost” E-Cigarette Prevention Campaign, which launched in September 2018, and aim to educate teens on the dangers of e-cigarette use. The posters are intended to be displayed in high school bathrooms – a location where teens are often faced with the decision to use e-cigarettes – and deliver snarky, hard-hitting messages such as:
“Strangely enough, some students come in here to put crap into their bodies. Vapes can contain some of the same cancer-causing chemicals found in cigarettes.”
“Some of the grossest things in this bathroom are in that vape. Vaping can expose your lungs to acrolein, which can cause irreversible damage.”
The posters were initially distributed last fall as part of the campaign launch to more than 10,000 high schools. Due to high demand, FDA, in conjunction with Scholastic, will now send posters to the more than 20,000 remaining public and private high schools in the United States. Schools do not need to request these posters; we’re proactively mailing them directly to schools.

A Food and Drug Administration (FDA) official said Friday the agency is working “as quickly as possible” to finalize guidance that would remove flavored e-cigarette products from the market. “This is a very, very high priority, and we’re trying to complete work on it as quickly as possible,” Mitch Zeller, director of the Center for Tobacco Products for the FDA, said on a call with reporters. … Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar said last month the ban would include mint and menthol flavors, but the administration is now considering exempting those products. … Zeller declined to comment on whether the FDA is considering an exemption for those flavors, saying only that deliberations are “ongoing.”
Zeller said it is important that high youth vaping rates not be conflated with vaping illnesses. “We need to be careful not to conflate the two issues - what has been going on for a number of years with increased use of e-cigarettes and especially flavored e-cigarettes by kids … with the more recent development of pulmonary illness that seems to mostly involve the use of illicit products.”
… which sounds like consonance with the CDCs recent admission of THC-product causality - yet Zeller also stated to a reporter(s) an arguably contradictory statement, re-injecting fear, uncertainty, denial (FUD).
Seems like (at least, has appearances of) now that the CDC has swapped the (Nicotine) “bad cop” for a less deceitful “good cop” mask, FDA now deliberately (yet again) dons the “bad cop” mask in order to keep their information agitprop options open for future battles in their holy war against Nicotine. Good cop, bad cop - CDC and FDA play such tag-team games with regularity, to keep Tobacco settlement cash flowing.

It’s old but it reinforces the attitude of politicians. Politicians will tell the FDA what to announce and do. Damn the facts. Damn reality. This is the outcome we want. And like a child who wants a candy bar, if they can’t get it from the FDA they will go elsewhere. Fuckin herd of little dictators.
well my search for a new mech… yeah… its just freaky some of our old fav things no longer exist, or do so as stick mods and cheap mech boxes… even the older toss away ce4 tmax etc… ego stick mods… and looking around on ebay… very few sellers… I caught one from China… with a few cheap mods… but it was the only account selling hardware… Bottles, 30ml pet only 2 sellers. then I jumped on fasttech… and its pod mods, aio… and stick mechs… the few boxes they had were sad… I do see Motley Mods is still on ebay and the website is still up… but just wow… when did this all happen?
