ELR Mixing Contest III (Live)

I think cheesecake is a bit too far of the goal as that becomes really just strawberry cheese cake and not shortcake

Even as ice cream pastry candy etc strawberry shirtcake is still a specific thing

been working like crazy but finally testing batch #3, now were talking. I hope you guys like commercial liquids lol. This is one of the best strawberry vapes I’ve had in awhile. Granted I don’t vape too many.

Are there any concentrates which “wetten” a SB Shortcake mix which has a plate drying effect, even after a two week steep? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. I am already using one of the “juicy” type of strawberries, so that didn’t help as much as I hoped. I’m looking for something that has a similar effect like “INW - Cactus” does to dry fruit mixes.

WF quince jelly, start low 0.3-0.5, won’t change up the actual flavor much if at all. My other go to is FA pear for a wet/juicy enhancer.

Are you suffering from a dry cake issue or just the whole mix feeling dry?

@jbitts You’ve got two good responses above, and are known for helping “wetten” up things a bit.

I use the FA Pear very often for that, but haven’t tried the quince jelly yet (good tip @Letitia). But typically (my uses) I use it to enhance just fruits, and not really the entire mix.

If your CAKE elements are dry, I’m trying to think if I’ve ever been in that particular situation. Cakes can be dry, but by the time you pair them up with the other flavors, it tends to diminish.

I use CAP VC v.1, and FLV Vanilla Pudding often just as mixers/fillers/basers very often, and they might be able to help diminish some of the dryness, and if used low enough, won’t blow up your profile(s).

Yes , Ill usually use a custard as well not just any though. Premium is my fave with bakery , you can also try a butter as well. The pear ideas is a good idea but works best with other fruits. Since there is fruit it may work well

I’m trying to think, I don’t think I’ve ever tried to “juicy” up a cake before. It was an interesting question.

Ya , i wouldnt thinking of it lwith the word “juicy” but maybe moisten would be a better word

Hehe, agreed.

I wonder if a caramel or butterscotch might help…I have no clue never tried

They might help, BUT, could easily pull it off profile, depending on the desired end profile(s), which I’m assuming is SSC.
