FB has the right to censor their site. What I find disturbing is the unevenness of it along with the hypocrisy. No matter what someone’s political stance is, they should be alarmed at this type of behavior.

This capturing your intention seems to be a tremendous help in censorship, even before the disapproved thought has fully formed in your head, it will be blocked

I’m just waiting for the catalyst event to take place, the key invention, a way of connecting data to reveal whatever kind of power people get out of this huge collection of data from facebook or google. We can only guess what kind of power this has over the little people. Armees of sociologists and psychologists analysed our behaviours, steered our desires and now they have us at a point where we are totally helpless without the internet.

I’ve been trying to get my sis of FB for years now and tried to explain what it is they are doing.
It just doesn’t sink in.
I told her they know you better than you do yourself. They know exactly which buttons to push to get you engaged in whatever it is they want you to engage in.
She’s blissfully unaware. " I don’t say much about myself and if it’s important I go on private chat" 
Those cross site tracking cookies will follow you everywhere.
Nobody can ever stand up and fight for something anymore, because they will find something that you’ve said or done and rip it out of context.
You’ll end up public enemy no 1 in the public eye in no time.
Now they want access to your head.
They’ve lured us in with “free” services like WhatsApp and FB.
It’s such a good way to keep in touch with friends and family.
The price of those free services might be a lot higher than people are willing to Pay.

i use FB, mostly vape pages, some for sale, and the local town to see what is going on. i hardly ever post anything.

My sister send me a picture today of a telephone with pictures of FB, twitter, google etc. It said get rid of these and use alternatives.
This is the same woman that I’ve been trying to get off FB for years, in vain.
I told her to send that message to herself, since she’s the one using it and I’m not

Ultimately, the issue/problem is human beings weakness for following what others do and their apparent lack of ability for independent thought: if people didn’t default to following what others where doing so frequently, they’d break those behavioral weaknesses and people would realize nobody really needs to see what meal they’re eating or a million selfies in a million locales.
Instead, people not only mindlessly glom along with the rest of the crowd, but actually think that buying a certain style of car-seat cover or furniture (or vaporizer) is something that somehow defines them as a person while acting, speaking and thinking like everyone around them.
It’s as shallow and meaningless as creating an avatar for reddit or an online game: all superficial such boring cosmetic changes they apply to their appearance or lifestyle, thinking that’ll make people consider them original.
