Fix My Mix - Bring your trouble recipes here!

MEOW… I’ve bought several before not sure which one this one is hahhah and this is why. I pour them into the big bottles after buying. Bull city, Nicotine River, or LCN one of those guys hahaha

Assume not  I definitely mean pg. I have 4 qts of Essential Depot and 2 quarts of Biopharm and they all have a bittersweet taste. I even asked Essential Depot to send me 2 new bottles direct from their plant in Florida. It’s palm based, not soy.

Yes, I do the same thing but I’ve been buying the same brand for years with only some exceptions.

Btw, that’s a pretty picture :grinning:

Thank you for the correction!

Odd. I’ve never experienced a problem with pg (from a taste perspective, at least in the mix).
But then again, I use so little of it, and I’ve always used the PG from RiverSupply (which is Dow chemical, or at least was for the longest time).

I usually pick up my pg/vg when I’m low at whatever company I’m buying flavors from that week

Yes, Essential Depot buys from Dow, as well. I can’t say that I’ve been experiencing awful bitterness in my mixes but plain pg does taste bitter to me. I just was curious if anyone else did. My blends range from 30/70 to 20/80

So carefree and practical  maybe I should try that. But, at this point I have more pg than I will use in a year.

Thx for the feedback everyone. Time for 2nd shift…
FWIW, I usually buy from Amazon because it’s fast.

I just tasted my pg - never thought to before
It is bittersweet too… thinking…

Oh, just checked a different bottle from a different supplier - same if not more bitter :man_shrugging:

Thanks so much for reporting back in. Now I know I’m not imagining things or have batches of bad PG. This means a lot to me, thx

I just compared a fresh bottle of pg with my older one and I wasn’t imagining things. Yes, they both have bitterness but the older one had another component to it that didn’t taste right. I dumped it. I think it was just old and stale.

@authormichellehughes I just wanted to report back to you about the custard I added caramel, butterscotch and butter rum to. I used your recommendation of Caramel and Butterscotch (FLV), 1% of each. On a whim I added 0.6% of Butter Rum (LA). Well, it’s the first caramel custard I’ve made that I’m enjoying. Finally! Next, I’m going to try Caramel Candy (FW) for that Werther’s flavor you say you get. I’ve been chasing Werther’s for years and have 12 caramels in my stash and not a one worked for me. Next up, the Bourbon Custard.

Yeah, and I just received my flavor order today. I’m going to make your Butter Pecan Banana Cream Pie version. Have you mixed it yet? Did you lower the BPs?

I’m subbing FA Whipped Cream for Flavorah. FA calls for 1.7%. I’ve never used it so Idk if that’s what will work here.

I haven’t and I should LOL … sorry trying to get my boys to stop fighting and sleep. I have the FA whipped cream too but haven’t mixed with it yet… I’m so behind!

Teehee, I get it.

How much do you think you’ll drop the BPs? Maybe down to 2.5% each? I never used the CAP.
