Fix My Mix - Bring your trouble recipes here!

Yes, haha, I know. I was kiddingly exaggerating. Although, I know what you mean about that residue that never goes away. Did you try an ultrasonic wash? Another trick I learned is a PG soak. Since PG is a flavor carrier it tends to carry away flavors with a soak. Might have to do it a couple of times.

I can’t speak for Flavorah Strawberry because I haven’t used it but I’ve had good results with SB (RF SC) lasting for the duration. One of my favorite SB.

Hey Muth, I did end up taking the Cap silver line out with a remix because it was way rich for me. It may be perfect for you the way it is because my mom enjoyed it that way more. I ended up doing this:

TOC’s and Muth’s Banana Butter Pecan Pie : https://e-liquid-recipes.com/recipe/3446659/TOC’s%20and%20Muth’s%20Banana%20Butter%20Pecan%20Pie

1.00% Banana (Flavorah)
2.00% Butter Pecan (FW)
1.00% Caramel Candy (FW)
1.00% Cookie (Flavorah)
2.00% Graham Crust (FA)
1.60% Vanilla Pudding (Flavorah)
1.00% Whipped Cream (Flavorah)

Flavor total: 9.6%

I see you lowered the Caramel Candy, too. Regarding the BP, I never tried the Silverline so I wouldn’t have perspective on that. Maybe it would be prudent to just go ahead with your modified version and add more if needed? Is Silverline similar to FW?

ETA: I did a little note reading on the Silverline and can see why you eliminated it (If some notes read correctly). Too me, it sounds like it’s trying to be a BP (PUR). That’s why I always use BP (FW) with BP (PUR). I should send you some PUR to try. I have plenty to spare.

Hey sorry just getting back… yeah it was simply too rich to vape for a long period time and the Silverline just doesn’t give that smooth butter pecan I was looking for like FW does. I haven’t tried the pure. This is still a richer dessert, but cutting out the silverline and lowering the caramel is better… and like I said that’s my tastes buds, you might enjoy it.

I’m going to start with the less version… I can always add more if needed. To me, the PUR is more like BP pie filling complete with creamy butter/caramel. I get more nuttiness from the FW. Since there’s already all that creamy goodness in the recipe perhaps the FW is all that’s needed. It would make sense. Thanks for all the help, Michelle, I plan to mix some up today.

30 mls mixed and done! Smells good and I can tell that a good steep will bring this to fruition.

@authormichellehughes just curious…what did you use to taste test the recipe? I usually throw some in a dripper for a quick test. What’s your preference?

I used my RDA dread with the lolly coils only did it at 55w … that one started spitting at me so I grabbed two new RDA’s wasp nano and the Elder Dragon RDA waiting on those to show up… the irony is a few months ago I SWORE I’d never get into RDA’s guess I was wrong LOL oh… i did put this on my sub ohm tank at 45 watts after testing it too (my preferred way to vape) my old tobecco 25mm supertank

Only 55W??? Holy cow, I guess we have different vape styles. I rarely exceed 40W and with my MTLs and RL RTAs a range of 11 - 25W. Now that’s not to say when I use a mech mod with complex coils I won’t draw more than 60-75W but that’s not my ADV. Darn girl, you must fly threw juice and batteries at a maddening pace!

LOL yes I do fly through them both, but I didn’t think 55 was that high

It really depends on what you’re using and the kind of vape that gives you the results you enjoy. Just like taste, it can be subjective. To give an example: I’ve changed my vaping habits throughout the years to accommodate my gear and flavor preferences. For instance, I use KFs or similar MTLs for certain juices up to a 30/70 blend. They highlight the top notes and are also great for NETs or other tobacco vapes. I run them from 0.5 - 1.0 ohms. For a more well rounded, balanced vape where I want to taste all the components of a recipe I’ll use something that can do that. Usually one of my RDAs or RTAs with more open airflow and a bit higher power. But that’s what works for me right now. I still use the Hadaly and discovered that the Ghoul with an Alien coil rocks the flavor. Who knew? I try to get the best flavor and vapor production out of single coil atties (mostly due to laziness) but sometimes a dual coil is needed for what you’re going after. It’s taken me years to hone that all down but I’ll shut up now.

Were you happy with the flavor on that tank? I’m familiar with it, it’s a great affordable sub-ohm tank.

I’m STILL happy with the flavor on that old tank and use it everyday. My biggest worry is not being able to find it when/if it stops working. I’ve ordered 5 of them LOL. I honestly don’t care much for dripping so the RDA I only use (right now) for testing new mixes. That might change because a few months ago I had no desire to build anything and well that’s changed.

Cool. What about the drop-in coils? Are they easy to find? Is there an RBA deck for that tank?

Do you think the OG Uwell Crown tank is on par with the Super Tobeco?

I can still get the coils yes, I have a RDTA of it but it’s not as great as the regular drop in coil. I never used the crown. Flavor wise it’s the best tank I’ve ever had

Out of all the RTAs I have I always wondered about the Super Tobeco but never got one. Just watched a review on the RTA version. It has a velocity deck similar to the Griffin but 25mm tank with more capacity. For the price I’m tempted to get this old classic. Thanks for reminding me. Lol, just when I determined to stop buying stuff.

Gonna have to try squonking now lol you get the dripper taste and ability to rebuild, but with a bottle full of juice underneath so you don’t have to drip, I squonk more than I use drippers and rta’s combined most days

Sounds heavenly to me. Thanks for the tip

@authormichellehughes ever since you got me on the bourbon kick I’ve been daydreaming about it. I started a search for food pairings with bourbon. Here’s one on desserts (and this is just the beginning).

ETA: It’s just awful. I’m drooling looking at these recipes.
