(ABC News; September 28, 2019): “Keep calm and vape on: UK embraces e-cigarettes; US cautious”
Need to unmute. This is powerful. Got me a bit teary eyed.
This helped me sleep last night
He’s the shop owner who posted the vid on FB originally. Obviously, he filmed himself right after the authorities came to his door. I posted it on ECF, too. You know how they are strict about language? Well, the admin allowed it on the relative thread instead of “Not safe for work” because she thought it too important.
States making or (in this case losing) money. That’s mostly the issue for any bans on vaping and flavors
Right from the CDC data archieve. Calf. $110 million (Extra). Like they are so paranoid about losing money to counterfeiting cigarette tax stamps. Also I have no clue why the CDC would be involved in anything regards to tax issues. :LMAO
They might SAY they want us to be healthy but they sure don’t want our bank accounts to be healthy, with the hugh taxes. Or to stay off of cigarettes by taking away our flavors.
Link below will show you how much each State collects in tax revenue for each pack of cigarettes MADE. (not sold) then I believe they also add a state tax for the sale of that same pack of cigs.
Massachusetts collects $3.51 per pack MADE… of course they want to ban vaping.
It might really help publicity matters if “Vapor Joe” would/could manage to correctly spell the word, “suit” !
In text of complaint, whoever drafted language did get that right: “13. VTA has standing to bring this suit”.
Requested Remedy in the complaint:
Petitioners request a temporary restraining order,
a preliminary and permanent injunction,
and a declaratory judgment:
A. Declaring that Respondents’ adoption and/or enforcement of the Emergency Rule
constitutes an unlawful agency action in violation of the New York Constitution;
B. Temporarily restraining Respondents from enforcing the Emergency Rule;
C. Preliminarily and permanently enjoining Respondents from enforcing the
Emergency Rule;
D. Awarding Petitioners their costs and expenses;
E. Awarding Petitioners their reasonable attorneys’ fees as allowed by law; and
F. Granting such further and other relief as is necessary and appropriate.
Vapor Joes needs a copy editor if they want to be taken seriously.
“Michigan is going to the battleground where it all starts. This Gov has has banned vaping flavors to the point where vendors can get serious jail time for having more then 4 ejuices that’s flavored. This will be “Intent to sell”. Effective Oct 2nd.”
That is some atrocious writing right there. Kudos for breaking the news, but, c’mon…you guys…seriously
Indeed, folks should not want to set an untoward “president” of clumsily chosen and miss-spelled words. The result, for all intensive purposes, might be to loose perceived credibility in the public aye. I rest my haze.
Wonder if there are criminal charges for calling a state of emergency when (prehaps?) none exsisted in the first place? I don’t know. Just curious.
But enforcing restricted sales of e-cigs to underaged ppl, sure seems more like a local enforcement issue or warning where it’s happening. Not State or Country wide.
Not really. If that were the case, Dear Leader would be surely be wearing an orange jump-suit by now.
Dr Michael Siegel (September 30, 2019):
“Officials with the Oregon Health Authority recommended Gov. Kate Brown ban vaping products in the state for six months, following a second vaping-related death Thursday.” This recommendation is for a ban on all vaping products, both THC and nicotine e-liquids.
Big Mother would really “like to know” what sinful self-pleasurings our dear little ones have been indulging in:
(June 26, 2019): “ACLU objects to nicotine’s addition on school drug test list”
The need to alternatively addict them to wage slavery, dystopian futures, and psychotic denial surrounding environmental toxicity, climate ruin, and nuclear weaponry has never been more urgent.
Since when has there been school drug testing??
(I vaguely recall something about them back in my day for athletics… But they can’t test the average students (non extra-curricular) can they? o0
The Nebraska situation involves students participating in “extracurricular” activities. Being an old fellow, I haven’t followed such things much in recent years. Here is what a brief internet search finds (ACLU):
(December, 2016): “STATE TECHNICAL COLLEGE OF MISSOURI NO LONGER ALLOWED TO REQUIRE TESTING OF INCOMING STUDENTS”
(November, 2009): “State Supreme Court Rules Against Student Drug Testing”
Unconfirmed
I believe that a 24 hour TRO has been granted with possible ruling tomorrow at 11 am
That page no longer exists?
