I don’t see those folks (myself a fan, generally via flower combustion) are any better or worse or less human than people who want to inhale Nicotine, or merely crave Foodstuff vapors, etc. If we allow the oppressors to choose the “official scapegoats”, then they have (with ease) conquered our very hearts and minds. That sounds a lot like the dreaded “sheeple” designation. Who the hell wants to be (their) “prettiest little angels” ?
Public officials would interpret such as being a reason to make all Nicotine dull and deliberately unpleasant.
Yes they could, the same as they twist anything to suit their own agenda.
If autonomous individuals are able to alter mood with a substance that is in some way(s) pleasant to them, one can bet that the Moral Nannies will be lining-up at one’s doorstep to inspect one’s “privates”. No one single (phony, morally hysterical, futile) “call to arms” works better (on “sheeple”). Pleasure must be sinful.
'Tis indeed enough to engender a good deal of empirically justified nihilism where it comes to humankind.
Thomas Szasz makes brilliant analogies between the Theocratic States and modern Therapeutic States:
MD Degrees are Holy Orders;
Physicians are Priests;
Clinicians are Clerics;
Curing Bodies and Minds is Saving Souls;
Heroic Healers are Saints;
Scientific Knowledge is Faith;
Scientific Research is Hope;
Transplants are Miracles;
Rejection of Medical Science and Treatment is Blasphemy;
Therapeutic Drugs are Holy Water;
Psychopharmacology is Holy Eucharist;
Dangerous Drugs are Dangerous Books and Witches Brew from Quacks;
Writing too many Prescriptions for Drugs is Selling too many Indulgences;
Psychotherapy is Confession and Penance;
Institutional Psychiatry is The Inquisition;
Compulsory Treatment is Virtuous Charity;
Medical Death Certification is Extreme Unction.

Yes I was thinking about this for awhile now. Something else to consider is Obesity in America. It’s probably the #1 health issue.
How many ADULTS are vaping flavors to help them NOT pack in the junk food, or binge. eat or lose those dangerous pounds of lipoids.
We may be the majority. But, I don’t think ex-smokers are the only ones with a horse in this race. Not saying it’s the right answer to obesity.
It’s just something to ask ourselves and the rest of the world. “How many” are using 0 mg e-juices to Vape Flavors as a substitue to help with their eating disorders? and how many are using nicotine vapes to keep those pounds off?
An interesting angle. Several studies have reported that the use of “zero” calorie sweeteners in the diet does not appear to reduce (and in some cases may increase) daily carbohydrate intake levels. Does any (intended to broach “objective”) evidence exist making “taste/smell” aesthetics different ? All anecdotal ?
Personally, BOTH vaping and Cannabis (THC as you lump it together) should be 100% legal.
There’s no more reason for you to get upset with THC users than there is for non-vapers to be pissed off with smokers trying to quit using vaping!
We already agree that children have nothing to do with any of it. As it’s all illegal to them (just like alcohol is).
The last thing we need is further division of the ranks.
The THC crowd has GOT to be just as pissed about being lumped in with the black market, as we are about “kiddie labels”, some dumbass vaping 100mg nic, and other such bullshit.
Come on brother. Rise above it! It’s the same battle, just a different front.
Fair enough. I myself am not a fan, but am inclusive by nature.
Well, they DID put bitterant in canned air LOL. NO, I’m not advocating huffing canned air.
You know me brother. I’m trying …
2 kids die in King County… From fake oxycodone laced with fentanyl… 17 this year wonder why the dont ban 30mg oxycodone
In my youth, quite a few cans of Reddi-Whip here and there in various supermarkets [as it was, and I think remains, the only brand not to put weird additive(s) in with the Nitrous Oxide used to preserve the dairy product]. Got caught once (by a grocery store employee in a SF supermarket) re-experiencing the final scene in “2001, A Space Odyssey”, stoned out of my mind in the meat section. Nitrous is pretty much the only groovy inhalant, however. Drug prohibition laws have resulted in young children frying their brains at very early ages form huffing Toluene, etc. What a horrible legacy of avoidable harms. Thanks, drug laws.
@fidalgo_vapes, people are getting fucked up all over (chose those exact words on purpose). I see your point. Dangers lurk around EVERY corner. The bann’ers are going to be busy…
They already did - and that is why people are dying [from illicit Fentanyl(s), not Oxycodone]. And not only are people with severe and intractable chronic and even terminal pain largely not being relieved of their sufferings, (essentially all) purported “Oxycodone” for sale in our state has been counterfeited poisonous Fentanyl(s) garbage for several years now (since 2016). A friend died (likely, in part, due to that very thing).
Fucking BRILLIANTLY on target man.
I’ve been leary of salts from the get-go for just this reason.
Note, I said leary. Not against.
I firmly believe there are some people who they would work well for. But I firmly believe, that those are the minority.
Of course it makes sense (to me anyways) that it would take another very specialized “chemical cocktail” formulated by the dominant industries, to help those ‘most extremely addicted’…
But to me, I was never willing to entertain the thought of ‘salts’, as I’d already broken the hold on me. I do however try and keep an open mind to those who still seek to try and quit smoking, and support having access to the maximum number of safe options.
I (using base Nicotine only so far) found that the change in paradigm - between the power of the cigarette “Nic fit” for immediate gratification, and patience surrounding the ~30 minute total absorption time of vaped Nicotine - was an important transition that was (for me) quite necessary to get away from the “fire hose” approach to quelling those screaming Nicotinic Acetylcholine receptors in the CNS. Temperance ultimately arises from within - from incentives to regain “self-control”, as opposed to externally forced “regimens”.
Yeah, I can get behind this…
I’ve been trying to maybe advance this idea for quite awhile. I’m diabetic. I attempted to quit smoking numerous times over a more than 50 year period. When I stopped, my eating habits and weight went out of control and therefore my diabetes. I can’t do artificial sweeteners or sugar. However I began using I think either Cap or Flavourart products before I knew vaping existed.Those flavorings allowed me and countless others to enjoy food tastes that otherwise we just couldn’t.
When I began vaping 3 years ago I tried vape shop mixes and the sweeteners literally made me sick. So I came here in 2016 to learn mixing. Meanwhile I vaped unflavored to get off cigs until I found flavors and recipes that worked for me. I’m now down to 2mg and plan to reduce that. But I don’t foresee ever quitting vaping. I think that the health benefits are very real for appetite control and simple pleasure of food tastes that might otherwise kill, and also very much enjoy mixing as a hobby.
Ban Oxycodone??? No they didnt my mom just had hip surgery , Guess what she was prescribed ? Yup 30mg oxycodone…
Note… She was already taking 10mg oxys so they upped her dose and she has to go.to pain management , there are things she has to do that she didnt b4 but a an all out ban I dont think so
That’s a good thing for her well being. Let us hope that they diligently manage her pain during recovery from this very painful surgery/ recovery. That single isolated anecdote does not, however, negate the complex, widespread, and now long-term reality of a very large number of pain patients and physicians being very adversely affected nationwide in a myriad of ways in just the kind of Moral Inquisition that is now being successfully turned upon your own “habits”.
