I hope to see toilet paper making a comeback.
Ramen noodles and obviously hand sanitizer are AWOL too.
Hand sanitizer is off my list. Sandy picked up some lavender scent and I made a batch of @daath “kills all” brew.
I’ll have to try that someday. As of now we have a lot of retail stuff (Sam’s brand) because we had gotten it long before the Great Panic (like October I think). We’ll have enough until it returns to stock again.
It’s the whole “lab” thing that tickles me. I serve drinks in Cole Palmer beakers, lol. The Doghouse looks like the backdrop for Frankenstein.
My boy will be happy when these come back. His favorite lunch. Also currently a faux-prepper and price gouger favorite, unfortunately.
Ya it’s gone many years ago now, it’s all about money even between (brothers).
Before it was friends having fun with their bikes, today it’s just very disgusting, what they stands for those clubs.
U still not have enough TP
A ton of stores are still out here in PA.
Really crazy, we has this situation first 4-6 days around.
Now we all can go to the toilet as before
I hope they keep the work from home in place wherever possible.
Employers have always claimed that it wasn’t possible and all of a sudden it is.
People seem to be far more productive working from home.
Saves a lot of time standing in traffic only to sit behind a computer in an office building.
They can convert the useless offices into much needed living space.
It’s the same for our politicians, travelling up and down to Brussels with a whole convoy of shit and now they find out they can communicate via satellite.
The wonders of technology they’ve just discovered must be mind boggling for the poor creatures
My previous employer was so completely against working from home, she made me take a vacation day when the weather was too bad to drive in. Hated that mean person.
I am far more productive working from home. And yes, eliminating the commute is absolutely awesome. And I’m cutting the grass at lunchtime today, too. More productive working at work and home stuff.
Companies should be taxed extra if they make people go to work … let’s see how quick that stupid attitude would change. It’ll be better for work, better for healthcare, better for the environment.
I don’t think businesses keep their employees at an office because they like to torture them. There may be opportunities for employers to extend work from home now that they’ve seen it can be possible, but it isn’t fair to force a business into a model one way or another, or penalize them for their decision. We’re not talking about nationalized industries, we’re talking about private business. Whether you like it or not, private businesses have rights too, and it’s rarely a wise idea to inject such government interference. You have to keep in mind that there’s never going to be a one size fits all solution to handling a workforce.
Now THAT would be a thing.
I used to work from home 1 day every other week. I told my boss (and presented evidence) that I did 3 times the amount I could do at work. Why? Open spaces, constant disturbance from open meetings, people shouting down their phone or to the other end of the office, people hanging around your desk for their break when you’re trying to focus, etc etc.
When I asked why I couldn’t work from home more often, I always got some silly reply that others “wanted to see my face”. Why? I still don’t know… everything happened through email or phone.
There are certainly jobs that require you to be at work but where it’s not needed, people should be allowed to work at home. There are people who don’t have the discipline to actually do work from home but that shouldn’t be the problem of those that do.
And I’m saying that decision should be made at the discretion of the employer, not the government.
To a certain extend perhaps, but the decision has an impact on government infrastructure and other businesses too
If everybody who could work from home did so, there would be a lot less traffic on the roads and it would be a serious boost to the national economy.
How so, in your opinion?
Just having less traffic jams on the roads would do that… and the increase in productivity would do the rest.
I don’t know where you live and what your traffic situation is, but when people travel for hours to work and back and keep up all the freight on the highways, that costs a lot of money.
