If those that find offense in such things would stay away, then those of us that don’t, would enjoy it all the more. It’s just a laugh, right?

I’ve always seen the humor in everything imaginable, I think people need to see the humor in things to make life bearable… There’s a lot of negative shit in the world and it’s troublesome for people like me who are lost in thought, so making jokes about one’s inadequacies, others at the same time, race is another one, culturally every race has some fucked up qualities and to claim making jokes about them MAY seem racist to OTHERS, especially if they are White Knighting the minority, but I think the reality of it all is because a person needs to feel to protect certain groups (in general) because they think they are in some way better equipped to protect them than they can protect themselves and it’s almost like this self-righteous superiority complex that entitled people have… It just seems silly to me that you can’t mess around with people these days… And this doesn’t just go for race, it goes for orientation, social status whatever group a person fits into, because there’s certain things people aren’t honest about and that’s to see the lighter side to whichever team they’re apart of.

There is a difference between joking and bullying. I might add. Guilty at times, but is never my intent, I get carried away sometimes.

That you own up to it is huge. In the spirit of full disclosure, I find many of the things you, @anon44012888, post offensive or just plain rude. But I haven’t seen anything that I, personally, would consider bullying.

Others, on the other hand might take more personal offense or feel individually attacked by some of the things you’ve said. I kind of figured that you don’t do/say these things with that intent in mind, so I just kind of frown, shake my head and move on.

I totally understand getting carried away. I, myself, have a tendency to over share and have been working pretty hard on that particular quirk of mine. It’s sometimes very difficult. If I’m in an awkward situation, I often say the first thing that comes to mind, whether appropriate (or not) for the situation.

For example, about 8 years ago at work, paired with a guy I greatly admired the skills of but wasn’t very friendly with. We were in the middle of our project and I was so very uncomfortable. I just sort of blurted out the fact that “I don’t like to eat oranges. My body doesn’t digest them well. They always come out smelling the same as they went in…”

He took it pretty well, I guess… he just sort of side eyed me and said “my family and I are going to New Zealand for the summer,” and went back to the task at hand.

He said a few minutes later, “we were sharing random personal facts, right?” We became pretty good friends after that but MAN it was awkward as HELL.

I remember it so clearly because events like that get burned indelibly into my frontal lobe by my subconscious saying “fucking IDIOT!! Now you’re going to think on this, oh… once every 3-6 months… FOR…EVAR!! MWA HAHAHAHA ”

Anyway, yeah, I totally get the whole “getting carried away” thing. You’ve eased my feelings toward your posts. I think I feel a little more ambivalent towards you and a little less likely to cringe when I see your avatar and screen name.
