Thank you. As to Pharma, I believe you are correct. They control the lying mainstream media which far too many fail to recognize. I suspect that access to liquid nic will become very difficult or impossible without a license of some sort.
I have my “lifeboat” ready with enough nic and supplies to likely outlast me. I’m old, retired, live in a remote area, and am a shut in due to being legally blind. While I can see to do most things, they will not renew my drivers license. I rarely leave my property. So I’m not concerned about not being able to vape or mix or getting caught. Oops, seems I lost most things I purchased in a boating accident.
As to the Michigan issues I’m attempting to get at, I expect (a) court challenges on the jurisdictional issues between state and federal agencies involving federal preemption of state laws, in whole or in part and (b) the factual basis behind the supposed “emergency.” Whenever a government acts in disturbance of the rights and property of others, there are precedents requiring the proof of a rational and factual basis. Thus, the media blitz of lying bullshit and hysteria.
@SessionDrummer what I see is the destruction of the vaping industry by Big Tobacco and Pharmaceutical companies who own interests in vaping product manufacturing operations. The enemy within is the most dangerous of all. That will take quite an explanation…later.
While I don’t believe a word of anything any newspaper or any fed says, nevertheless The Wall Street Journal reported that Juul/Altria/ PM is under a criminal investigation resulting from FDA and Federal Trade Commission probes. Gottlieb singled out Juul as the problem. Juul is no longer part of VTA or the ongoing VTA v FDA action and without their deep pockets… We all know about the IQOS system.
They have made campaign contributions to many snakes in suits. The enemy within? You be the judge.
Speaking of reptilian players, note that various “anti-self-misuse” industries are a huge and thriving market. As of 2017, this particular one was estimated at ~$8 Billion per year, and growing:
Houghton-based tobacco vape shop 906 Vapor LLC and its owner Mark Slis filed three lawsuits Wednesday against the state and the Department of Health and Human Services to effectively stop the state from following through on its 180-day ban. …
… The suit claims Whitmer’s office lacked the legal authority to enact the emergency rule - which bans the retail sale and possession of flavored-vape products for 180 days. It also alleges the state violated the “notice-and-participation” rule-making process required by the state’s Administrative Procedures Act and that the emergency rule is unconstitutional because it did not provide “any reasonable standards or guidance by the Legislature about what constitutes a true emergency, what 'public health, safety or welfare means, etc.” …
… Michigan’s vaping industry generated more than $608 million in economic impact in 2018 and created 4,290 jobs, according to data cited in the suit. That translates to nearly $189 million in wages and benefits and more than $51.3 million in state and local taxes, according to the data. Nationally, there are 11,468 vape businesses employing more than 56,000 people, generating more than $24.5 billion in economic impact, according to the suit. …
… The emergency rule also faces a legislative challenge. Michigan Rep. Steven Johnson, R-Wayland, introduced a bill Tuesday to bar the emergency ban and Rep. Beau LaFave, R-Iron Mountain, introduced a bill last week that would prohibit the state from implementing rules.
Send the Governor a little “get mentally well wish”:
You know you funky as a mosquito’s tweeter You got a mouth like a herd of boll weevils Same old game, same old game Same old thing you never change Same old game, same old thing Always rappin’ 'bout the same old thing
A: “MDHHS is working with local and municipal law enforcement agencies regarding enforcement of the emergency rules. Enforcement of the emergency rules is a multifaceted response involving law enforcement at both state and local level and an online complaint-based system,” said Lynn Sutfin, a spokeswoman for MDHHS.
Retailers may be subject to inspection by local law enforcement, state law enforcement or the MDHHS Tobacco Section for follow up of a complaint, she said, noting that the department has two staff members within the Tobacco Section that can provide assistance.
Online sales will be enforced in the same way as retail storefront sales, Sutfin said.
The US - a beacon of freedom and democracy to many in the World - appears to running full-tilt towards 3rd world status, at least as far as their Political/Judicial systems are concerned.
That’s a fact. And as the gooberment delves ever deeper into every aspect of the people of this country, I would anticipate that the country as a whole will devolve into a third world status. It pretty much appears to be a race to the ruins.
I thought of a satirical “kids, turn in your parents” and “parents, turn in your neighbors” bit - but it seems that such gallows humor may not mitigate the pain of this depressing regressive dive back towards the Dark Ages of the Endless War on People who use Drugs. Pitiful. Societal “dangers/harms” will be multiplied. Even the Flavinoid Peoples will be persecuted - by collateral damages from the Nanny State Juggernaut of Jive.
The flavor pigs are already out and about here in MI now. Videos are surfacing of da popo checkin vape shops. The poor cops looked embarrassed even. “It’s law and now we have to do this.” SOP; assholes and elbows chasing the mice while we ignore the elephant in the room.
Having said all that, in reality this ban is a small inconvenience for me. Spot checking on-line e-juice retailers, there’s a huge selection of zero nic juices. Obviously, I DYI and that remains untouched. So for the moment all is well at the Ogre household.
I did have a shipment from Wizard Labs mysteriously go to Lansing (not en-route for USPS to my address) and is stalled there for some reason. Lansing happens to be the state capital. No, I’m not playing look out here and broadcasting activities by the flavor SS, I’m sure it’s a fluke. Still interesting.
I want to say you have to be kidding… but I know you are not…
Anyway you can get a picture of a flavor pig for us all?? a video of them spot checking could be something too… this is distressing and really making me sick… I guess we all knew local cops and atf would be the reality checkers, still knowing the nightmares of a vape shop are coming true… is just depressingly sad.
