That’s like my brother that picked up and tossed diamond back baby he had no idea what it was till grandpa shot huge one about fifteen feet away and my brother goes why’d you do that they were fun to tease and play with. Grandpa picked it up by he tail and shook it my brother wet himself.

I was reading some your responses to my wife and says to me " but these are people that don’t even now you" And I responded no these are my vape family I could see a tear run down her cheek and she said “everybody is so concerned about you it’s like…” at this time she kinda sobbed and I finished for her and said they’ve known me forever… She sayd look at me crying over something so simple. I told her simply wonderful. I don’t think she thinks I’m nuts when I talk about one of us and how close we all are any more. I think she really gets it now.

I have a little spider bite story but I didn’t want to make this thread about me. I’m so glad you went back to the Doc! Black Widow bites are more like snakebites in that the toxin travels and affects your whole body.

My little tale: I must have had a brown recluse lay eggs under my desk at work (about ten years ago). My hand was under the edge of my desk and I felt like hot needles jabbing the back of my hand. I looked and it was like dust on the back of my hand …but it was moving and stinging.

It was a bunch of newborn brown recluse spiders. I killed them all immediately (of course) but now I have like ten tiny brown scars/dents on the back of my hand. I washed with lots of soap and water and hand sanitizer and it didn’t really get too bad …red and itchy. I didn’t know at the time they were brown recluse spiders or I might have gone to the Dr.

It became obvious later when I had tiny sunken age spot-looking scars and two slightly bigger ones (pencil ersaer sized) Black widow bites are much more serious. Having lived in BW country my whole life I don’t go to the wood pile without gardening gloves.

On the day you got bitten I was moving some of my junk to hidey holes in my new place and came across what looked like a Brown widow and three egg cases …guess who got sprayed? Under the web (bone pile!) it looked like she had killed some Wolf spiders and a couple pterodactyls. I’d take a pic but no one wants to see that! SO GLAD YOU’RE DOING BETTER Heal up bro! :heart_exclamation:

Just had to look this up…never knew there were brown widow spiders! OMG, I absolutely loathe spiders! They scare the shit outta me because I don’t know if they are poisonous or not…so I just imagine that they all are! Now just one more of those little SOB’s that I now know about and must fear :worried:

Actually I kinda like spiders …I know weird. Texas had the friendliest house spiders. They’d respectfully stay in the corners on the floor and took care of flies and mosquitoes that made it into the house. I killed them at first, but our little relationship blossomed when I started seeing pesty home invaders husks laying on the floor under webs. They never migrated and were so tiny with tiny webs it was never obtrusive …unless you were a housefly  I was super unhappy to find a Widow in my new place …very distinctive body …and the pile of large spider husks it had killed/eaten was testament to it’s lethality. Oh and there’s only two really to worry about and we’ve talked about them already and they prefer to hide

I would rather have a Ton of gecko’s running around my backyard ( they eat spiders ) Than one black widow. I had a Boxer Bulldog that was bitten on the back and it nearly killed him

I wouldn’t dare run off and leave wifey or my vape family. Wifey would rip me a new one.

My daughters father in law told her to tell me to wear gloves. I told her to tell him I tried but they looked funny on my feet. I got bit on the ankle, you can bet that from now on I’ll be wearing boots in the yard. I’ve only got like twentyfive pair.
