RTAs failed me/I've failed my RTAs?

Have you had any problems with the coatings coming off of your Squids? I’ve only found one place that sells clear wraps for them and it’s in the UK, zapwrapz.com (I’m in the US).

Whatever happened to JWraps? The only US site I know of that sells wraps is Vaporskinz.com, and they don’t have wraps for any of my mods. I’m really not the sort of person that drops their mods, but I’m sure as soon as I’ve said this, I’ll walk out the door and drop one of my mods on the pavement.

I’ve not had any problems with the paint on my db3s but they very seldom leave the house and aren’t always in rotation.

@Letitia Mods rarely leave my home, either. But once I find a mod I really like, it’s rarely out of my hands.

I’d read and seen lots of reviews, but one thing I wasn’t prepared for was the finish. I was expecting them to be glossy. They’re somewhere in between matte and semi-gloss. Most of my attys are silver and just don’t look right on the Squids. Now I have more reasons to buy black attys!

Good thing FastTech is having that sale - I just need to figure out which are the best ones for me. So far the ones I’ve got in the cart are:

  • Blotto Mini RTA
  • Druga RTA
  • Zeus X Mesh RTA
  • DOOM X RTA (with 04 Mesh Coil - 0.17-0.23ohms)

If anyone has any recommendations, whether they’re for RTAs, coils, or mesh, give a shout. I’m looking for very loose MTL to RDL RTAs and prefer to vape in the 30w range, but know for mesh that probably isn’t gonna happen. I generally use 26g SS316L for my coils.

(Thanks to those who have already offered their advice) :+1:

i have a Druga, its good. the others i do not have. but, i have a Profile rta with wotofo A1 Kanthol .18 mesh, i just tried it at 30w and it is defiantly doable. i use this on a 1 18650 squonk mech, and it works real good.

The black mtl brunhilde looks great on both my flower of life and inferno db3s. Easy build/wick, loose mtl or rdl, good flavor, single coil.

Do you mean the Profile Unity or the Profile M? I checked out FastTech and they have the Unity Styled, but the Authentic is no longer available. They do sell the Profile M, though. I’m not a real fan of the larger tank that’s plastic. Dunno why they did that.

@Letitia I have the Brunhilde and it’s WAY too restrictive for me. Maybe I need to redefine my vaping style if my description makes you think of that atty.

It’s the Brunhilde along with a few others that started this whole thread, not just because of the airflow, but because of the muted flavor I was getting. That’s why I was asking for advice on what to get and/or to see if I’d made good choices before FastTech’s sale.

Flower of Life and Inferno DB3s, huh? I see we have similar taste. Those are the two I got. Do you use the black disks to protect the finish on the mods? On the one my ohms are going all over the place. The other one is doing just fine.

Reduced heat to lips!!! It’s a god send to chain vapers. The low profile 810 DT’s has almost forced the plastic fill caps on RTA’s.

my bad, i meant the rda. i have 2 Unity’s, they are good when wicked right. i want an M, but they are pricy, and i shouldn’t be buying any more gear.

Is this chat still going on? You use an RTA when you have an ADV. Struggling to think of another point.

I’m not sure I follow. What does the material of the tank have to do with 810 drip tips?

Harsh. If you’d read this thread you’d have seen that I’m using Zeus Nanos and Boost Plus pod/mods atm. I had asked earlier how you do SFT on pod/mods when someone suggested something by VooPoo, but I got no replies.

I vape thin (70%PG) juice and never had success with RDAs (spit back from hell), which is why I’m asking only about RTAs.

it doesn’t. i didn’t like the plastic “glass” either. but, i bet these days they have figure out how to make them so they don’t crack.

use a mesh rda, they don’t spit back unless they are way flooded. a squonk is a good way to prevent flooding. but for SFT’ing, a regular coil and little/no tails can be used. do you have any rda’s ?

Oh, I thought that’s what you were saying. That’s why I didn’t understand. LOL

But why couldn’t they have made the bubble tank out of glass like everyone else does? It seems more like they went cheap. :frowning:

it wasn’t me.

yeah, idk, cheaper probably. but maybe its more durable for people that drop. idk

I’m not about to get into squonking. That’d be a new mod + a whole new search for attys. Hard pass!

As for using a regular coil, kinda need an atty that works for me. That’s the whole point of this thread.

Hmm, I haven’t looked at mesh RDAs. I’ve avoided all RDAs since I first tried them years ago. I’m having flashbacks, remembering hot juice spit back on me. Ow! :flushed: (so that’s a ‘no’ I don’t have any RDAs)

If there really isn’t spit back with them, what (relatively) inexpensive mesh RDA would you recommend? (remember RDL & that I’m using thin juice)

My bad. That’s what I get for replying on my phone instead of my computer.

i am going to tell you what i tell my wife (often 92,000 times), just because you don’t like something the first time around, don’t throw it under the bus. some things need time. squonking is a mighty fine way to get your vape on, “especially” when your away from home. this is all i carry.

if your getting spit back from any of them, your not doing it right. spitback means your deck is flooded. to correct this you either dump it out, or turn the power down to use up some juice. when “dripping” you need to learn the right’ish amount to drip.

mesh rda’s to get. all i have is the Profile RDA, so that is all i can recommend. idk how cheap the are.
