RTAs failed me/I've failed my RTAs?

I know there’s a lot of Squonk loyalists, but I’m not ready to buy a new mod atm. (esp not since I just splurged and bought those extra pretty Squids)

Well, I’m sure it wasn’t a matter of my having the power turned too high. tbh, I can’t recall all the recommendations I was given wayyy back when. My RDA attempts pre-date my forum usage. This was back when I was on vape servers on IRC. This would’ve been about 6-7 years ago? (total guess) The people I talked to finally said all the spitback was because of the high PG I was using. I went with that and gave up on RDAs altogether.

I’ll look into mesh RDAs. I’m willing to give RDAs another try, mesh or otherwise. But I would like the field narrowed come June 2.

I can’t speak for high pg but I can say that spit back can happen with a perfect build too, if you oversaturate the wick and hit it right away. Hitting it right away doesn’t allow the wick sufficient time to soak up the juice you just dumped on it. A quick fix is to apply the power for a second after you drop new juice and before you put it to your mouth. This does two things. It spits some juice, if it’s going to, but not in your mouth, and it promotes maximum wick absorbtion. Now put it to your mouth and vape, just be sure to take it easy on the first mouth drag. After that you should be able to suck it like a Dyson Vacuum would without worry about spit back. It might sound complicated but it’s not, and can become second nature in short order.

Also… used to be able to get anti-spit drip tips. I have one here somewhere that is for 510 MTL RDA’s. Just a thought…

I have two of these. Well, three if the one ever turns up again.

Unfortunately Steam Crave is sold out of these.

LOL That’s advice I never got from anyone before.

Like I said earlier, it’s been years since I tried RDAs, but I’m willing to give them another shot. If you (or anyone) can suggest single-coil RDAs that are RDL, I’d appreciate it. I’m open to mesh RDAs, too.

Are you talking about the ones that have mesh screens? If you are, I think I have some of them somewhere. I didn’t like them, I can’t remember why, though. :woman_shrugging:

There are some with mesh screen, some with layered ledges in the airflow bore and some with a swirl pathway for the airflow bore.

I remembered looking at squonk mods years ago, but couldn’t remember why I stopped looking. Now it’s coming back to me. Almost all of them are really big (by my standards). That’s why I was so happy to find those Squids. Not only were they attractive (a bonus), but they were small. I’ve also only ever used regulated mods. The only regulated squonk mod that I found that I might be able to comfortably hold was the SXmini X Class. I found it for the low, low price of $139. Yeah, I don’t think so.

Now you’re sounding like the 'Possum. I have insomnia from time to time. I fell asleep then woke back up to do further searches of squonk mods. LOL I mean, there’s GOT to be squonkers that fit women’s hands, right?

I bought the little Geekvape one.
I think it’s called the simple ex or something similar?
Straining the brain cells here but perhaps it was launched before the Geekvape pod kits?

Anyway I found it pretty good and incredibly small. From memory the RDA was a PITA to build on but I put the Wasp nano on there and it was/ is a very pocketable and satisfying vape.

At work I much prefer something small and stealthy and this has made me think I should give it another run.

ooooh, below the belt, lol, j/k. i meant that in a friendly caring way :hugs:
maybe i should have left out the “wth” part

i do also.

i was trying to think of something, a mech is all i could think of. but now, how about a Pico Squeeze ?

small and comfortable. Protected-mech though. Can’t go wrong with the Elder Dragon RDA except they are now on the endangered species list(very hard to find).

Also a mech, fits the bill otherwise and it’s in the USA warehouse.

i took mine apart and put 2 coats of poly on it, REALLY made it PoP !

but she needs fully regulated. i think she would like a Desire Squonk. its not exactly small, the the hand feel iss real good. and i bet somebody here would have one to rehome.

Love mine, and you’re right…as awkward looking as they are, they fit right comfortable.

If you can find one, the Wismec Luxotic BF mod is pretty small. single 18650 mech-ish with protective circuitry. I use mine quite a bit with a Claymore RDA single coiler and it’s a great combo. Some people claim that they leak, but mine has been a solid box for the past year or so with zero issues.
