Love mine, and you’re right…as awkward looking as they are, they fit right comfortable.
If you can find one, the Wismec Luxotic BF mod is pretty small. single 18650 mech-ish with protective circuitry. I use mine quite a bit with a Claymore RDA single coiler and it’s a great combo. Some people claim that they leak, but mine has been a solid box for the past year or so with zero issues.

This is a good one. 21700, or 18650 batteries. It’s slim and feels good in hand. it’s a little tall due to accepting a 21700.
if you want regulated be sure to choose that on the pull down at purchase. Also available is the protected semi-mech board which I have and love.
NOTE: It has been hard to find the regulated variable board version of this mod lately. First one I’ve seen in a year probably.
ok forget the other Luxotic bf mods I posted.
This the one I knew I saw and was looking for.
If you don’t use enough cotton spitback can happen too. I was going to say that RDAs have come a long ways in a short time. Most of them are designed for usage with 70VG though.
30VG juice might be a problem for any of today’s DL tanks or RDAs. I say might because I haven’t tried it. I know how thin that juice is though from years ago.
Probably because they’re charging 70 bucks for it lol. I got four of those for around the same price. I haven’t seen the screen version in a while but I’ve never been interested either. It’s an alright squonk mod though.
My first one was leaking somehow. It was around the 510 connector and would soak the battery compartment ribbon. It wasn’t major leaking just enough to get annoyed.
ok. i am doing the straight PG on the Profile rda, wotofo a1 mesh, at 30w, right now. 30w is a quit mild vape, no spitback, and very little crackle. ok, now 35w = a little better.
@INOIROC I’m curious about specific details related to refilling the bottle and hooking it back onto the 510 supply tube. I have also experienced minor juice leak in the battery compartment of my Luxotic MF. I have concluded that it is not due to failure of the 510(in my case), it occured at the time of refill when I am reattaching the bottle tubing to the 510 fill tube. The 510 fill tube seems a little shorter than it is on my other squonk mods. It is also recessed/obscured a little by the mod body(top of the battery compartment opening). The same obstruction requires the bottle be held at a steep angle during insertion and coupling of the bottle tube and 510 supply tube. I have found that I have trouble making this connection without lying the mod on a table surface or holding it horizontal on it’s side. If I try to make the connection with the mod body vertical I have to raise it above my head in order to see the 510 fill tube. As a result I always tilt it or lay it down on a surface. The combined factors of recessed supply tube, steep angle required to maneuver the bottle into position, and the softness of the bottle all add up to a 50/50 chance I dribble a small amount of juice upon bottle hookup/insertion. Only after this realization and subsequent awareness have I been able to reduce occurrence of this small dribble to approximately a 10% chance. I am certain there is not any leak after bottle hookup/insertion by inspecting carefully for any juice residue before and after bottle insertion. if there is no juice after bottle hookup and subsequent vaping the bottle contents time and again, I have to conclude there is not a operation leak of the 510 attachment and/or the juice/bottle interface.
I have adjusted the refill procedure to also leave a little bit of headroom in the juice bottle, be very deliberate yet gentle manuevering and attaching the bottle, and before refill I sometimes pull a small amount of bottle tube up about an eighth of an inch if it has pushed in over time. A longer tube exiting the bottle allows for better visual reference and realizes a slight reduction in the angle required to maneuver the bottle.
That all sounds very bad as a purchase decision reference point(con), but it is really very minor.
The function and comfortable feel of this mod, and that it can use the 21700 battery makes it easy for me to forgive this minor design flaw. It is the favorite unregulated squonk mod in my inventory. I find it to be more comfortable in the hand compared to the heavy and wide Pico Squeeze II, although the Pico Squeeze II is a very nice 21700 regulated Squonker.
Every time I’d re connect the tubing, I’d take a pointy tool to help slide it further up. I use the juice bottle as my battery gauge pretty much. When I refill, I always throw in a fresh battery. Mine would get wiped off before hooking the refilled bottle. Every time I went to change the battery and refill, the ribbon would be soaked.
I opened it up to take a look at the internals. I carefully put it back together and it never worked right again. I didn’t notice any major wet spots inside. It’s still a mystery to me how the ribbon got soaked every time.
Ouch! Sorry to hear this. it’s been awhile since I opened mine, I can’t remember if there was any gotcha’s that can getya during reassembly. if you want to look at it again I’ll be happy to use mine for any comparisons that might help.
Anytime it dribbles gravity will let it creep down to the ribbon. I’ve had wet ribbon syndrome too.
Thank you but I think I might have tossed it. I have three more of them though. Next time I’m not going to take the bottle out to refill. I got used to refill bottles from my Hugo Squeezer. The one I’ve been using actually came with a Boxer but Hugo gives you one with the Squeezer. I’d like to say they’re mess free but they aren’t lol. They sure are convenient though.
Honestly, the Druga is more DL for me. AF is a tricky subject sometimes because it can be a little subjective. Also, female lungs are 1/3 smaller than the average male’s and might make a difference in the experience. I’m not saying that’s cut in stone, just saying. Sometimes when pulling on a wide open DL I feel like I’m sucking in the entire stratosphere, lol.
That’s prob why I’ve been describing myself as very loose MTL to RDL. It gives a wider range of AF. But, if you feel the Druga is straight out DL, that’s not gonna be anywhere near my idea of RDL. (sigh) another bites the dust.
Ok, that’s good to hear. I was kinda hoping to hear more recommendations about RDAs than about squonkers, not that I didn’t appreciate them, although @JiM210 posts were confusing as hell, especially since the 2nd post that he cancelled out was for the same squonker that he linked to two posts later. I felt like I was following Billy from Family Circus there for a second.
I liked the looks of the very first one, though. But don’t you need replacement bottles for squonkers? I really know nothing about them. The only reason I ask is because I’ve seen them on FT. Do they break, or do ppl put different flavors in them?
Other than the Profile, do you have any other RDAs you could recommend?
Well, wouldn’t want to further endanger a species, what would PETA say?
Any very loose MTL/RDL RDAs that you can think of that aren’t on the endangered/extinct list?
I read reviews where ppl were having the same problems. Seems there were also problems with the battery door?
I kinda liked the look of the Luxotic Surface vs the Luxotic BF. Why’d you choose one over the other? The Surface is regulated and unless I’m looking at it wrong, the BF isn’t.
You can adjust the AF on the Druga but I think it’s probably meant to be more DL. One way to size up an atty is to look at the deck. How big is it and how much room is inside the chamber. Sometimes a deck, once it’s built takes up a lot of room and diminishes the overall size inside. You can always watch reviews on it, too. It’s always a good idea to watch reviews before buying something. Believe me, I’ve made that mistake too many times just because I got excited about a sale or hyped up by the noise around me. Gear is subjective like flavors.
