Something that has just come to mind, Rochford project is uk based right?
Have you ever considered the blackcurrant in there could be a uk based concentrate/brand? Something like Decadent Vapours blackcurrant or even one of the TFS/DripHacks blackcurrants(ribes?) could be the blackcurrant you’re looking for?
I think DV could have a high possibility as they do(or did) work closely with some oldschool uk mixers? Plus their blackcurrant is pretty complex on its own, then DV have lots of other dark berry flavours too like black drops, berrylicious & a few others. Some of their fruits are also known for having a light cream element to them too, like a cream saver type flavour right in the back. Another thing i have noticed with DV is that most of their flavours (the ones i have tried) have that “commercial” type feel to them, like when you push them they fill out really nicely & just feel like a commercial liquid if that makes sense?
Just thinking out loud really/throwing some more ideas out there.
Hope you manage to crack it or even make one better, keep us posted on your progress.

I kept seeing them and thinking mmmm…nah! Wouldn’t it be funny if after all this time it turned out to be them, that sounds like my luck! Didn’t realise they had a connection to old school mixers and based here in uk. Well, I placed order for DV Blackcurrant, Berrylicious, Berry Crush, Purpello, Grape, Grape-Bomb, GrapeBerry.
Didn’t bother with black drops as that seems to be a mentholated blackcurrant lozenge type flavour. See how I get on with that little lot, definitely worth a try I think. Thank you for the suggestion.
The only issue I foresee though is I’m reading that Decadent Vapours has just recently gone belly up…mmm! Next payday i’ll check out TFS/DripHacks, can seem to get them under both names, I assume they are the same flavour?
Tim is a local to me. His juice will dissolve cotton, it’s crazy.
Harvest Berry is pretty distinct, so should be an easy yay or nay. But I guess it’s easy for me to say that.
It is but the mixed/forest fruit section in this mix takes a backseat and is hard to dicipher, this is a very well crafted Eliquid and trying to clone this was maybe a little ambitious, for me anyway.
I’m big on my grape flavors tasting right (most taste like grape vitamins to me), since they took drooly from me. This looks like a similar blend, but not any cream or apple, a really in your face purple pixy candy grape.
This actually looks decent and worth a try.
It’s been my ADV for a few years, since I came across it and it’s just so yummy. The trouble is, because it’s so good, it’s made me very picky, and trying to create something I like just as much is proving extremely challenging. But then, this liquid was crafted by an award winning artisan mixer that started out mixing on this very platform, and is known to spend a lot of time carefully putting together his recipes where making money wasn’t his primary focus. Iv’e tried so many short fill Eliquids from the brick and mortars and nothing has ever come close to how special this line is, you know as soon as you vape them that there is something very special about them and very different from the rest.
I get the same thing with most of the grapes I have tried, I just don’t think I have the right ones.
Believe me my pickiness is like yours, maybe grape has that effect on people? Because as a child I never liked grape, but it was my go to up till this year when my brand shut up shop, I’m still very close to making my grape “Drooly” flavor, it should be finished with this next batch of flavors I ordered, and help from this flavor genius @SessionDrummer
I figured most of the premium juices back in the day had flavor scientists as you said, and now that flavor bans went into effect, some of those flavors are hard to find now. Im finding that out now with a peanut butter taste I’m trying to make perfect.
Good luck, maybe we can help each out other along the way with our pickiness.
Thank you, yes that sounds awsome. Drooly sounds very interesting, would love to try that. Grape does seem to be a funny one, especially in the eliquid world.
Theres still quite a few grapes I know I haven’t tried, FW Grape being one of them, I notice there is a FW Grape (natural), not sure if this is the same flavour or not?? If they are seperate, I feel drawn to try the natural one since I don’t think there is anything candy or artificial about Black Vine.
Grape Juice Flavor Essence (TPA) has been my nice juicy Welches taste go to for my Drooly Clone (I’ll release it when I’m done and it’s perfect, I still have 1 bottle of drooly left so I have something to compare to) but it is more of a Purple Grape with a Juicy Pixy stix or a wet WF-CANDYSTICK aftertaste, I tried Grape Candy (TPA) it was to caramelized/vitamin tasting for me so I wouldn’t recommend that, ooooooor I’m/we are picky.

Decadent Vapers flavours came and the blackcurrant to smell and off the knuckle seems like it might be the one I’ve been looking for!! The grapeberry seems like it’s a good candidate to be involved in the mix as well.
They came as DJINNI branded, that’s when I learned that although Decadent Vapours has closed it’s doors because the company’s director placed it into liquidation, it has been taken on and rebranded by the rest of the DV team. This has already been posted on ELR forum, I just missed it.
Got lots of flavour tasting to do now, and pretty much going back to drawing board…sigh!
Good luck. I’ve been following the post closely and I’m going to order some “Rochford project” concentrates including “Black vine”. May be able to give some info to help your quest after I’ve sampled it. Will be a few weeks though have to catch up payments for other vape related items.
That’s excellent, fully expecting to be told I’m an absolute idiot and I’m way off lol
I don’t feel like any of this is coming easy to me at all. My recipe has changed a fair bit from my last post, dropped the fig and tpa blackcurrant and instead playing with a mix of CAP blackcurrant, FA blackcurrant, FA bilberry and CAP blueberry jam to create a fuller sweet blackcurrant flavour. Funny enough this DV Blackcurrant seems like a mix of those two blackcurrants to me, which, if the DV is indeed a missing ingredient, that’s probably why I’ve ended with those two…IDK!
Would be absolutely fantastic if someone else besides me could attempt this because I’m really struggling with this, and it’s because I’m so inexperienced.
I’m not that type of a person. All the info in the posts is really helpful and everyone’s view is important. It’s hard to clone a recipe, especially if it’s complex (which this is). You also learn a lot whilst doing it that is valuable. Once you know which flavours are used ie, “blackcurrant” grape" “cherry with slight marzipan note” ect your half way there. You’ve done a good job of identity them. It’s then finding the right actual flavours used. You’re close to finding them . I look forward to actually sampling “black vine” and if I can help at all I will.
not sure if i can buy this in canada
where do they sell the concentrate in the UK?
importing finished e-liquid is a gamble here
I’m going to have a look and see if I can find anywhere that ships to your location. Be back in a minute.
Pretty sure rochford project just sell from their website, in the beginning they used other retailers to sell their range. Anywhere you find that still list it are actually long out of stock. They also no longer ship internationally.
They stopped shipping overseas in 2021 because most carriers no longer except e liquid good.
You may find sellers in Canadian shops that import UK brands although none of the major search results currently list them as stockists to Canada.
The only place i can see that sell the concentrate in the UK is the rochford project themselves.
Evolution Vapes state they ship internationally and stock the black vine ready made but state any issue with customs is on the buyer.
I have noticed on ELR Recipes how trends in the way things are done have changed and evolved, I could be wrong but I am half expecting that the recipe to this juice will be very sort of typical for 2018 as I beleive this juice was released at the end of that year. This might help determine what may or may not be in this, depending of course on when Jay from the Rochford Project actually started developing this liquid, newer flavours need not be considered.
I am pretty sure the cherry/marzipan thing I was smelling on the drip tip was a red herring because of some weirdness I was getting with the nicotine I was using, If i remember correctly I starrted vaping without it and I was no longer smelling it.
I am getting some sort of dryish powdered suger almost meringuey thing going on on the exhale.
This juice also doesn’t seem to gunk my coils either but yet it’s kinda sweet, and has a slight sugar lips things going on which leads me to believe something like powedered sugar or other ingredient is where that’s coming from since sucralose would gunk coils. I think something like Extra Sweet (Neotame) is being used because of EU/UK regulation as knuckle testing the concentrate along side my samples gives that kind of instant sharpish sweetness on the tongue unlike sucralose.
I do think there is vanilla in this, but more as part of cream or maybe marshmallow.
Take these with a pinch of salt as you might taste it and think what the hell is this guy on, but it’s just what I think I’ve managed to discern, fully expecting that I maybe wrong in my “Findings” ![]()
This is a good philosophy to have and one that I would also adopt if I were trying to clone an eliquid. Unless the recipe has been reformulated (which I highly doubt because I’m sure the BV fans would have discussed it publicly and we would know about it) and unless The Rochford Project had bespoke flavours made for them then the flavours they used would have to be the ones that were available back when it was first released. Another brand that hasn’t been mentioned but was around at that time and was utilised by Chefs Flavours in some of their own e liquids recipes is Cupcake World which is a U.K. brand and is sold under different brand names by popular vape flavour vendors in the U.K. even today. I hope the process of elimination bares some fruition for you in your quest. Good luck.
