Now, is your profile name Cloud_Gerbil on the recipe site? I tried to look you up, but nothing pops up; wanna see your stash. You might have to create a recipe and make it public so I can see what you haveā¦ Just create a recipe with a single flavor and make it public. No biggie, you can always go back and make it private if you donāt want it showing!
Have you mixed up test batches with these tobaccos, at varying percentages, to get a feel for how each tobacco taste by itself? I donāt mean to be a harpy about this, but many folks just start adding this and that together without learning to appreciate the flavor of an individual tobacco liquidā¦all alone, with nothing to adulterate the flavor of the tobacco. This might sound like a laborious process, but it will serve you well when you are creating new mixes; knowing what tobaccos blend well with other tobaccos is priceless information.
Thanks for all the feedback and Iāve now made my recipes public and should be visable as Cloud Gerbil.
I know exactly what you mean about test batches and getting a feel for the individual flavours and Iāve mostly been doing that; just a single flavour recipe for each of the concentrates. Iāve got it into my head that making up recipes with a single flavour is a bit of a cop-out and that theyāre not meant to be enjoyed as stand-alone flavours which I realise is probably ridiculous. On the other hand, itās never occurred to me to mix flavours like King Arthurās Pipe and DV Gallic Charm with anything else.
@Kinnikinnick - FAās Dark Vapure might be another to suggest to @LordVapor . Itās a dark, strong tobacco, but
has that definite Cocoa flavor. What do you think?
The FA Dark Vapure definitely has a dark side to it! I feel like it makes a good addition to a mix if you want to lean towards a cigar note or have a slight bite to the mix.
Just checked it out! Youāve been busy! Nice mixing!
The one thing I would suggest, would be to get you some INW Dirty Neutral Base or some tobacco absolutes the next time you order. This will be a nice addition, in small quantities (.25 to 1.5%), for bringing out a deep, complex tobacco quality to your mixes. Iāve been hooked on adding a TA of some type to my tobacco mixes for quite a while now; canāt live without it.
Iāll second the motion for mixing the tobaccos as single flavor mixes, to get the feel for them separately, and getting to know them. That doesnāt stop me from mixing them, also. If I want to see how two work together, Iāll put the tank on the scale, zero it out, and just mix the single flavor mixes, in percentages that I think will work. If it turns into a winner, then Iāll convert the percentages over into a separate mix, like normal. I found that was a quicker way of testing two (or more) tobaccos together, to see if they play well together, vs making a test batch from scratch. I donāt have to wash as many bottles, eitherā¦lol
Iāve been reading elsewhere the Nicotaina Rustica is the cats meow of absolutes and Seedmans is not too shabby either. Iāve been wanting to try these tobaccos for a while now, but just never got around to ordering from either of these vendors; crossing my fingers that the hype is true.
Hello people, Going to knock up a tobacco/ cocunut mix soon, tried manabush coyote cocunut was a very nice nutty tobacco, Gonna use FA for the cocunut, but donāt know where to start with the nutty tobacco ???
Digbyās Oriental Plunder is a great juice and Iāve been thinking about trying to copy it too. Iām pretty sure the apple is mostly FA Apple Fuji and if itās not then it would get you damn close. The tobacco is harder to pin down - what have you tried? I donāt have a ginger flavouring in my stash so thatās one I need to get first.
