100%!! A must watch.
My wife is into it but I couldnāt seem to gel and I did try. Well truthfully I didnāt have an option but to try.
However I did enjoy 1883 and weāre going to binge watch 1923 when itās good to go.
Does Sam Elliot ever age. I swear he looked the same in that as he did in Roadhouse.
For the final movie in my February of remakes, readaptations and reboots, I have chosen The Lion King.
Why, well it is the Disney movie that stands on the cusp of full CGI effects and is the last to have any dramatic chops. Obviously I will be watching a Blu-Ray which doesnāt cut the āsexā out.
I am now pondering what Marchās theme will be. I was pondering āMad as a March Hareā and picking movies based on March hare/hair and madness. Although, any suggestions are welcome.
Started watching 1883 with Sam Elliot. Another winner! And 1923 is in the queue.
Iāve watched the first season, it was very very good! Now on to 1923.
1883 was incredible, it was the first show in years that i didnt have to swear at the whole time. The characters actually acted human, the sets were amazing as were the costumes and dialog. And i didnt have to turn it up and down every 5 seconds. I dont often get teary eyed and i almost never waste those emotions on entertainment but this one got me right in the feels, even more than when Rocky wins his first tittleā¦
I havent watched either of the others yet but i certainly will.
Watching La Brea, I have no idea why!
I just watched this tonight and you were right it was a pile of shit.
Editā¦. To clarify.
The Worst
On the eve of D-Day, American paratroopers drop behind enemy lines to penetrate the walls of a fortified church and destroy a radio transmitter. As the soldiers approach their target, they soon begin to realize that thereās more going on in the Nazi-occupied village than a simple military operation. Making their way to an underground lab, the outnumbered men stumble upon a sinister experiment that forces them into a vicious battle against an army of the undead.
How was this one? I like J.J. Abrams.
Excellent, Went into it with no expectations. Was very pleasantly surprised. Good Acting, Great storyline & Well worth the watch
As I havenāt pinned down a theme for March as yet, I decide to use a random movie generator for tonight.
Oddly, The Witch (2015) was already on a list I made of horror including rabbits, so a nice coincidence to start the month with.
I love nature shows!
Well, I have finally decided on a theme for the month: As mad as a March hare. And, there is only one way to kick this off - with In The Mouth of Madness.
Many will class The Thing as their favourite in John Carpenterās Apocalypse Trilogy, though Iāve always favoured this instead. This is mainly due to it moving further into cosmic horror than just fear of the unknown.
As itās a personal favourite, Iāll include a few reflections on it:
I must admit that Colour out of Space, as a direct Lovecraft adaption and The Void, with itās dark and visceral cosmic horror, may shift my ranking of In The Mouth of Madness with time.
For tonightās dose of madness, I will be rewatching one of the most brilliantly demented movies ever made: Mad God.
This was Phil Tippetās personal pet project, and one which he started after finishing the stop-motion for Robocop 2 in 1990. He also nearly abandoned this many times due to the ever increasing progress in CGI. Luckily for us, he stuck with it and decided to say to himself āfuck it! - Iām going to do all this in stop-motionā.
This is an unsettling visual feast unlike anything most have seen. As Iād prefer people to go into it near blind, Iām only including one clip and no review or reflection video.
Based on the true story of a man-eating black bear that attacked Mark Jordan and Jacqueline Perry, while hiking:camping in the back country of Missinaibi Lake Provincial Park, North of Chapleau, Ontario in 2005.
*Extremely Graphic Bear Attack
Watched that one twice already, very good docu with lots of beauty.
