When people are in disability here they have a lot more protection than the standsrd tenant like inspections every 6 months. Heat and Electricity has to be to code and working. The landlord had to fix these things pretty fast. Is it different up there ?

My old place was 500 cheaper at under 800, free laundry, etcā€¦ These guys have gone from 850 to 1145 and do 2 inspections on the whole building a month, I was even given a bad ā€œreport cardā€ because I had the stove going and didnā€™t clean off my cutting board of veggie scraps, I had some whiskers left in the sink and my blankets were on the floor next to my bed. Thatā€™s a strike, 1 more and Iā€™m on the streets. Not only that but when I sold my truck because I wasnā€™t able to work I had one of the ladies walk in on me without a notice or anything. Theyā€™ve also said because Iā€™m on disability I needed a cosigner and on a contract, which is 2 months rent if I break contract. I was also told I had a service call taken out of my damage deposit because my tub drain wasnā€™t draining and the plumbers pulled out a giant black hairball, the ladies at the office left me a bill saying, ā€œreasons for on call plumbers: Dumping stuff down the drainā€ā€¦ My hair is not black and it wasnā€™t 2 feet longā€¦ But hereā€™s your deductions and from what I hear, regardless if you pay to get the carpets clean they still take 250 for it to get done, despite not calling people.

I should also add that we had to leave the building 12 times in 7 months because some foreigners left meat on their patio and it thawed and brought in a bunch of cockroachesā€¦ Theyā€™ve been doing heavy inspections sinceā€¦ You basically have to make it look like you donā€™t actually live there to their standards, on top of all thatā€¦ I had all my shit packed up in that time in boxes because this whole ordeal so we werenā€™t allowed to put anything awayā€¦ Most people were on month to month and moved out and the 2 with the infected suite were evicted

I also got in shit for having cans in garbage bags on my deck, they left me a notice trying to evict me until I sent them pictures of the bags opened up with cans in side with a message, "Do Cockroaches like Diet Pepsi and Water bottles? "

When shit FAILS on stage !!!

I know @SmilingOgre will appreciate this tech, AND the Guitar Tech even more. Even Strymon Zumaā€™s fail. Hats off to the Guitar tech (or Drum Tech). No techs, no showā€¦

I surely can appreciate that. Constant battle and Murphy reigns supreme. At the worst possible time, always. Thatā€™s especially a problem with hobby bands. There are no dedicated techs. The music stops and itā€™s a mad rush to get the music going again. Everything from bad cables to mixers locking up and weirding out in firmware. Then there is the dreaded feedback. Especially playing outdoors where a perfect balanced system can go south just from temperature and humidity changes. In the last band we had a person who would run a front house board to maintain balance but was a complete numb-nuts when it came to addressing a problem. Heā€™d run around making things worse so there we were back to stopping the music, putting him back in his box and fixing the problem ourselves.

@SmilingOgre I have seen, witnessed, suffered through NUMEROUS seemingly UN-overcome-able situations live, and I was just blown AWAY by his calm, FAST, troubleshooting. If you really watch what heā€™s doing, itā€™s incredible. When heā€™s waiting to hand him the guitar, heā€™s already scanning the pedal board, and seeing that half are not powered on, all the while, still waiting to hand off the guitar, WHILE planning his next moves.

Super Tech, and the 2nd vid was timed, and he gets a lot of credit, which is well deserved. At the end of the show, even MORE credit.

Love to see that Walt.

Amen. The guy is sharp as a tack. Dove in and took care of business. Reminded me of a pit crew in a car race.

Iā€™ve only had support like that once when we opened for Grand Funk. I felt like a princess or something. At the end of our session they jumped in, tore down, lugged out and took care of everything in-between. Oh no sir, we will get that. Can I take your bass? All the time showering with complements on the performance. Lugged the junk all the way to the car and loaded that.
One could get real spoiled.

Hehe, I never got spoiled much, just did most of the humping.

You mentioned FEEDBACK, and it PTSD triggered me, and reminded me of a show we did in a medium/large bar, wherein the drum riser was backed up against a huge bow window, that literally backed right up to the sidewalk out front. GREAT WAY to pull people in, looking RIGHT into the drum kit outside right ?

Well it was like a Fishbowl with all the glass, and an acoustic NIGHTMARE. That night my in ears died, so we switched mid song to our backup wedges, BUT FOR THE FACT that when any heat was sent to them, the Mains started screaming, because of all the splash off the glass. I was literally trapped with NO audio for about 85% of the show. It wouldnā€™t have been so bad if much of the material wasnā€™t overly complicated, but it WAS, with all order of shifting time signatures. I had to do most of the show, watching the lead guitarists hands, on the BACK of his guitar neck, to try and figure where we were.

THAT, ā€¦ was a stressful show. Thank God were were very over-rehearsedā€¦

Most, if NONE of the audience ever knew ā€¦

That does sound awful. Absolutely amazing that you could pull it off. I got real dependent on my in ears in a short time. The drummer and I wore them and would be in virtually perfect sync. The other two could not escape the pulse. It made a huge improvement within the band. BTW, elr is now whining about too many replies so I guess we better let someone else have the stage for a bit, lol.

Yes, yes, and MORE yes.

Honestly, I didnā€™t think I did, until we loaded out, and I checked the DAT. Even a blind squirrel finds a nut, hehe.
