WHAT Has Made You Smile Today? (III)

Yeah, i’m aware of that. Same will be here at first, but eventually most countries will follow the path; it’s decriminalised in many EU countries or at least is not punishable in most (can smoke publicly outside and you wouldn’t get charged in most cases, but you cannot buy/sell it legally).
‘Thank you’ was meant in a way if the US wouldn’t push that first step, then this wouldn’t happen yet in Germany (this subject was rolling for decades but various lobbies here would still hold their positions and forever delay any legalization). It’s a good decision; one of not too many in recent years.

You didn’t keep the original :face_holding_back_tears: I love vintage coffee pots one of these days I’ll locate a heating element for my classic electric percolator. Best coffee ever!!! At least the vintage stovetop version always works.

Loving the battery life on my Dell XPS 13 9310 2-in-1. It just keeps going all day long.

When we moved into the van, I obviously had to get rid of my desktop PC. Because I still do quite a bit of “heavy” processing and video rendering, I needed a combination of laptops that were capable of doing what I need on the go. So these are what we currently use.

Dell laptops

Really impressed with them all so far.
The Inspiron 16 has a QHD Amoled display which is very close to 100% colour perfect. Reasonable processing power, video card and battery life.
The 7590 is a 15.6 inch FHD screen that is fairly good colour wise, but it’s strength is raw processing power and the 130 watt graphics card which renders really well.
The XPS 13 9310 2-in-1 is my daily driver for internet, email, accounting etc. has the infinity edge screen (they all do actually) and is the same physical size as my old 11 inch laptop, plus has brilliant battery life.
The XPS 13 9360 has all my wife’s favourite movies on it so she can watch them whenever she wants.

These make me smile every day as I use them…

Don’t rub it in, lol. A professional appliance technician told me it couldn’t be fixed and I took his word for it. This was years ago and I didn’t know better.

Speaking of which…would you know how to replace the torn mesh in my filter cup? I just bought a large roll of 316L SS mesh 400 and was thinking that it would make a perfect filter material. How do they adhere the mesh to the frame of the cup? It has to be food grade but strong enough to withstand very hot water. I have no clue.

I take it you weren’t able to find a house then?

Yeah, that would work, but no clue as to how to do it. I’m thinking it’s probably some kind of heat pressing? Melt the edges of the frame onto mesh?

Oh that sounds brilliant…you have a good brain  ! I found out that cotton muslin makes the perfect filter material for coffee and teas, flavorwise and for filtering. You would have to clean it afterwards though.
