How Many Flavors (Flavours) do you have?

What is the shelf life of concentrates if you don’t refrigerate them? I’ve seen different opinions on this.

The shelf life has to do with the flavor from what I understand due to the PG solution its mixed in. Over time that favorite flavor you always use will change the way it tastes (not necessarily go bad) so your recipe won’t come out the way you expect. I use a two year window for using them and then replace it (yes I track purchase date on all flavors). It may be longer before the taste changes but I haven’t tested it in practice and I usually only buy what I need for a two year span of time and consider anything left over as waste. Cost of each recipe has the waste factor in it as well to keep things accurate.

I only have 74 flavors. I probably only use a third of them. I have found 4 or 5 mixes that I like and will be sticking with those on BCF reorders. The rest I’ll play with at some point.

It was over 1200, and I have some that are still not added to the spreadsheet. I gave up updating my ELR stash (I gotta get on that Dan), and run any new possible orders, through the Spreadsheet Matrix first. Surprisingly the free ones I got for testing were hardly a blip on the radar @Dan_the_Man.

Well this thread is pretty telling!

As someone who just started (again) to try this, I only bought about 25 flavours. 2/3 of those were based on the top ingredients used here, a couple of those were doubled out for “cleaner” version to see how close the flavours match.

A key focus for me on this was budget, the other half was a desire to try my own mixes / curiosity as I’m a super taster with an absurd sense of smell and my Italian partner is an amazing cool / baker - I wanted to see what we could come up with.

Resulting from the budget constraints it’s going to be a slow road to increase flavours with a lot of community questions! I’m hoping to find a couple of relatively simple adv’s to keep costs down while experimenting. And learn the tips and tricks. The 100 drop test was something I looked up right away and makes so much sense.

My big mistakes last time were getting frustrated and not keeping enough notes on recipes.

Anyway 25 flavours. Trying to start getting a similar profile to a juice from company that seemingly went out of business is task one — partnered with trying a castle long clone (v2)

I’m really looking forward to seeing everyone’s MUST have flavours.

I don’t really have a favorite, I try to come up with a new recipe each time with max 3 flavours and if I like it I save the recipe.i don’t do SFT. I’m new to the DIYing started about a year ago but not many flavors mostly because economic crisis lol they are not as cheap in Europe as in other countries.

I’m in the U.K.now and the flavours are substantially more expensive here than when I lived in the states, even the ones made here weirdly.

Ah it’s not that bad yet here for the most part. There are some places still doing £1.49 (€1.73), TFA/TPA, for but that’s a place I found that has some but it all of what I needed. The other place I had to go was more expensive at £3.20 (€3.71), these were FA. So pretty close on FA. I wonder if they’re cheaper in Italy, I’ll check when I go back.

I’m really glad I only needed two flavours from them. It’s a bit disappointing to see some very frequently used flavours on this site’s most used list that don’t seem to be anywhere here, or very expensive. I ended up going with bourbon instead of Kentucky bourbon because I couldn’t justify shipping on one more bottle from a third site that didn’t have what the other two had largely. I’m surprised there isn’t a more consistent selection available but I probably don’t understand the scope of how many flavours exist.

Seems like people here say sales happen a fair bit. Hopefully that applies in Europe too!

I guess we also have to consider that eliquid in general is 4x (at least) the price in Europe as the USA. When I lived there (moved back 2 years ago) I was buying 120ml bottles of 12mg high
Mid range juice for $17-18 on sale or $21 normally. It’s 50ml shortfalls here for £11.99 or for salts 3/£10 on 10ml bottles. Insane.

On the upside. We didn’t have a ban out on mailing anything and on the downside for the USA, they’re pretty screwed right now. Though I’m sure a solution will rise very quickly.
