I love my 350! 460ci, 4.10 dana rear, E4OD, it could pull a house off its’ foundation. But all I ask it to do is tow my boat.
Nice @anon70102222. I had the 250HD with the 5.8, and due to some tire changes, had to bump to 4.56 with a Detroit Locker, and then an ARB Air locker in the front. No boat towing, but loads of 4 wheeling fun. Beyond hating the dual gas tanks, the E40D never let me down, despite being asked to work very hard. I sure hated the Twin I Beam after I lifted it.
Mine’s an E350 though.

I hindsight, I wish I would have just went with the 350 and a solid front axle.

Ohhh, I’m sorry, you kept saying E. Those were GOOD 1 ton vans. 460, nice. No replacement for displacement.
The only problem with them is that almost no shop (at least around these parts) has the equipment to do a proper full alignment on front end.
